And for the first time her ready face tilted up and looked at me.

Our eyes locked at I thought I saw a glimpse of a smile before her face glazed over with sadness again.

AVERY'S POV

Our eyes locked, and my world froze. I felt happiness for a split second until Lucy's heart beneath my hand, skip a beat.

Turning my attention back to Lucy was the worst thing I could have done. I paled at the sight. Blood poured from a gash in her back. She was losing blood by the second.

"We need to get her to a hospital fast!" My mate broke the silence.

I stared up at him. "But you're not in a pack?"

His eyes reflected a flash of fear before he covered it up. He probably thought that once I knew I wouldn't want him as my mate.

"Human hospital." He whispered, shaking all over. Fear was visible all over him despite his attempts to hide it.

I knew I had to comfort him. Arna was my main priority right now; but he was my mate. I wouldn't lose my mate. I COULDN'T lose my mate. Not at this early stage before I got to know him properly.

"Calm down." I hushed. "I don't care that you're not in a pack. I am excepting you no matter what. But my best friend is on a death bed. One of my only two friends is on a death bed. I can't lose her now. Not after what we've gone through together since I was three. And we can't go to a human hospital. We'd be discovered because Arna's an Alpha's daughter so her blood is stronger than most werewolves. I have to do this." And I picked up Lucy's cell to call Dylan.

I didn't care at this moment if my mate thought I was calling a lover. Lucy was on a death bed, losing blood by a ton. I knew for a fact that Alpha Matt wouldn't care about his full-blooded daughter (I'm not joking). Natasha would care but she has pack training and she doesn't take her phone to training. Dylan was the only person I could call. He might act like all he wanted to do was pick a fight with Lucy but he really did care. And with Jess on our side, I knew he would help Lucy.

"Arna this is great! I think I have..." I cut her off before she could finish her sentence. "I know. I have to. But that's not the point." Get Dylan and both listen to this conversation.

I heard rustling on the other side before Dylan and Jessica synchronized that they were both listening. "Arna and I had to parachute off the plane. The safety equipment was broken so when she told me to shift and land I did, but she couldn't shift. She's now out cold and losing a lot of blood we can't take her to a human hospital because you know why, so you two are my only help. Alpha won't help so I don't know what to do."

Dylan growled catching my attention. "Do you have company?"

It only took me a split second to realize why he knew. I was being careful. I said Arna, you know why, and plain old Alpha. "Yes" I answered.

Dylan growled again, only making Jessica comfort him more. Making Jess try to calm him down. "Who?" He demanded. I gulped. This was not the time to tell him that I've found my mate. Especially that he's a rogue. But I had to.

Quickly I mouthed to my mate "It will okay" before going back to the phone conversation and saying, "Dylan, calm down. I have found my mate."

He took that quite well, surprisingly. But his next question made me freeze. "Sorry" I mouthed to my mate before answering Dylan with "He's a rogue."

A growl ripped through the phone, making me pull it away from my ear.

"YOU WILL REJECT HIM!" he managed through growls. My mates eyes turned wide with fear before out he turned to run away.

Without thinking I reached forwards and grabbed his hand, forcing him to stay.

"NEVER!" I growled back to Dyaln before cutting off the phone call.
