The world swam into view in a haze of blue and grey as Izaya sat up. The male was startled by the schoolyard in front of him and looked around for any sign of life.

"It's just us here."

Izaya whirled around and his eyes widened in surprise at the figure kneeling on the bench before him. The feathered bangs and the crumpled crimson t-shirt was far too familiar.

"I'm not in middle school anymore."

The male muttered as the figure emitted a loud laugh and straightened himself up. He hopped down in front of the startled male and cocked his head to the side.

"No, but I figured you'd want a more familiar form for your subconscious."

The new face grinned at him as he dangled a switchblade between his fingers. Before Izaya could open his mouth the other male cut him off.

"You're in a coma, not a terrible one... you should be thankful you're alive. Thanks to a certain blonde."

Izaya blinked before a chuckle echoed in the empty courtyard and he leaned against the railing of the school building.

"I doubt Shizu-Chan would willingly save my life ~"

Izaya glanced over with an eyebrow cocked at his double, who snorted at the other's ignorance.

"He hates you, but taking a life is something you're better at. Are you even aware of why you're in this mess?"

Izaya's eyes flickered around for a clue before he shrugged his shoulders.

"Not a clue, wish to enlighten me?"

The Doppler-Ganger hopped down from his perch he had taken again and stopped by the hunched over figure.

"Does your father ring a bell?"
