My eyes slowly blinked open from my slumber. It feels as though I've been asleep for days. While my eyes adjust to the room, I realize I don't know where I am. I bolt up right, and immediately get so dizzy I fall back on the bed. After a minute of the room spinning, I attempt to sit back up again. I'm in a completely white room, with only the bed I'm sleeping on in it.

Where am I? What happened?

Relatively soon, a man comes in the room. He has dark, very dark, brown hair. His skin is slightly tan, and he has deep brown eyes that glow golden in the right light. He sits on the edge of the bed and smiles gently at me.

"Good morning, or, should I say," he pulls out a phone and looks at it. "good evening. How are you feeling?"

I gave him a confused look. "What time is it?"

"8 p.m. How are you feeling?" he repeats.

I lift a hand to my head. "A little dizzy.. Where am I?"

"I'll call Mikeal in here in a moment to help you feel better. You're in the rebellion's base." I gave him a confused look.

"Who's rebelling?"

"We are. There's a lot we need to tell you, but you should recover from the years you've been asleep first."

"Years? How long have I been asleep?" I was in shock. There's no way I've been asleep for more than a few days after my last mission.

"Based on the file we found about you in the Kingdom, you've been asleep since 2030." The man stated.

"And.. What year is it now?" I was afraid to hear his answer.

"3000."

I could feel myself getting dizzier. I've been asleep for 70 years... 70 years ago I detonated a premature bomb. 70 years ago I passed out in a field while the city behind me was engulfed in flames.

"I've been asleep.. For 70 years?" I shakily asked. The boy nodded.

"Yes. You have."

That's when I started hyperventilating. Everything came rushing back to me. Gabriel. Lilliana. My family. Blade. The Midnight Clans. All the clans. The bot gently put his hands on my shoulders and jerked me back into reality.

"It's okay. Everything will be okay. We need your help." He said.

Suddenly, he looked familiar.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Gabriel."

My eyes widened. I killed Gabriel. He died in the explosion. There was no way he survived.

"Yes, I am the Gabriel you killed. I've been reborn since then. It was my Lilliana you murdered."

I began tearing up. "I'm so sorry..." I covered my face with my hands. "I'm so, so sorry..." I felt his hands leave my shoulders, and gently thump against the bed.

"It can't be helped. She was destined to be impersonated and killed by you, Shard."

I shook my head. "My name isn't Shard.. My name is Sylvia."

"Is it?" he asked. "That wasn't in your biography."

I wiped the tears away from my face. "Shard was my code name, to hide my identity from the other kingdoms. My real name is Sylvia Evenfall."

I looked back up at Gabriel to see he had a few tears streaming down his face as well. I reached to wipe them away, then thought better of it and retracted my hand.

"Can you tell me what happened to me?" I tentatively asked. Gabriel sighed, and pulled a book out from behind him. The cover read "The Assassin of Midnight."

"In 2030, you were found by your parents in a field, presumed dead. They took your body back to their kingdom, and immortalized your body in a massive crystal. What they didn't realize was you were alive, and the crystal was life giving. You were essentially put into a coma for 70 years. That is, until Micky and I came and rescued you."

This took me aback. "How did you rescue me? You took me away from my kingdom."

Gabriel chuckled at that statement. "Your parents turned ruthless after they thought you died. They launched a full out war against the other three kingdoms, and easily conquered them. They didn't stop there. They've been taking over the continent, one country at a time. Soon they'll take over the whole world.

They're saying they're doing it to protect the children, in your honor. They don't realize they're killing millions in their conquest."

"And what part do I play in this?" I asked.

"You're going to help us stop them."
