Chapter 54

Mike's Point of View

"Baby you ready yet?" I asked knocking on our bedroom door. "One second!" she called. I laughed and walked back downstairs to where Vic was sitting with Sam. Sam saw me and smiled before starting on making the same baby noises he always made when he was happy. "Hey Mikey." "Hey Vic." I had completely forgave him for what he did to Karen but he was the only one who could baby sit tonight. I sat down on the floor next to them and Sam attempted to stand up. I smiled "Come on babe you can do it." I encouraged him. He stood up for a couple seconds before falling back on his butt and rolled onto his back. Vic smiled and I put my hand on Sam's tummy patting him gently. "Close enough." he smiled and sat up again. "Did they ever find he guy that stabbed you?" Vic shook his head "I've done like 3 police reports no one can find the guy." I nodded and watched Sam eat his hand. "Mike you ready to go?" I heard Karen's shoes click on the wood steps as she came downstairs.

I turned my head and saw Karen standing at the bottom of the stairs. God dam I really did get lucky, I stood up and looked her up and down. She was wearing a tight kinda short cheetah print skirt with a black tank top that showed off a small amount of cleavage and a pair black high heels. She curled her hair and wore a slightly heavy makeup look. She looked really hot, she smiled and grabbed a cardigan and her bag. "You look hot." I commented. Karen rolled her eyes and walked over to Sam. "Bye baby have fun at Uncle Vic's house." Sam smiled and giggled when Karen kissed his cheek. "I love you sweet boy." she handed Sam to Vic and he held him and rubbed his back softly. "Let's go." Karen smiled.

"Where are we going Mike?" Karen asked me again. I rolled my eyes and lead her down a beach. "Mike are we at my favorite place?" Karen sounded excited "Shhh." I lead her to a giant hammock and took her blindfold off and Karen smiled. "This is so beautiful." Karen smiled when she saw the hammock, I surrounded it with rose petals and small candles. "Mike this is so sweet of you." Karen smiled and I smiled back at her. Karen took her shoes off and sat down on the hammock. "Happy birthday K." I sat down next to her and put my arm around her shoulders. We didn't say anything but Karen snuggled into me as we looked out at the ocean.

"So are we going to eat dinner or just lay here?" "Yea but in a little while." I kissed her temple. "Happy birthday babe." "It's not my birthday yet but thank you hubby." I moved her over gently and got a bag from under the hammock. "You didn't need to get me anything." Karen smiled and I handed her the bag. I smiled back at her while she opened presents. I did kinda get her a lot... I picked her up a makeup palette from Urban Decay called 'Naked 3' that I saw her looking at online a couple weeks ago, she smiled and put it next to her and pulled out the next gift which was a bottle of body wash that smelled like apples and pears. She smiled and pulled out the next thing which was a new mug, a few tubes of lipstick, a new mascara I saw her looking at, a new pair of American Apparel high waisted disco shorts, two new bows I thought she'd like, and a framed picture of us from our wedding. "Mike you didn't need to do all of this." Karen was smiling and hugged me loosely. I put my hands on her waist "You're worth it babe." she smiled and kissed my cheek. "Wanna go get dinner now baby?" Karen nodded and put the stuff I got her back in the bag and hopped off the hammock and picked up her shoes.

I pulled up to Karen's favorite Italian place and had an amazing dinner she really enjoyed. "I have one last surprise." I said to Karen as we walked over to the car. I drove a little ways until we got to a cliff. "This was a wonderful early birthday." Karen kissed my cheek softly. "I'm glad you enjoyed tonight baby." I smiled at her and we joined hands "I need to tell you something Mike." Karen said softly "What's up baby?" "Remember at the restaurant when I passed up on fried calamari?" I nodded "Remember the last time I did that?" I felt a smile growing on my lips. "You're pregnant?" she bit her lip and nodded slowly. "Karen that's amazing." I pulled her a little closer and hugged her tightly.

Mike's Point of View

"Bye my sweet Mexican princess." I heard Karen laugh "I'll call you tomorrow Mikey bear." "Okay tell me what the heart beat sounded like one last time." Karen giggled "Boom... boom...boom. Also my cervical plug is nice and tight, so baby Fuentes number 2 is gonna live in my uterus for the next 7 months comfortably." I smiled "I love you baby." "Love you too Mike." "Also I think Sam wants you to read him the little drummer that could tonight." "No Mike. Were going to finish the Wizard of Oz tonight." "Hey that was a cute story." "Sam doesn't seem to like it Mikey." "That's cuz you don't read it right." "Whatever, Sam is yawning and baby 2 in making me sleepy so i'm gonna go to bed. I love you Micheal." "I love you too Karen." "Bye!" Karen hung up and I put my phone back in my pants before walking into the front lounge. "How's Karen?" Tony asked "She's good, had her first ultrasound today." I answered him. "Hey were gonna go out wanna go with us?" I shrugged "Nothing better to do." everyone nodded.

After a couple hours we were at some bar drinking. "Hey man, Imma go back to the bus!" one of the guys yelled to me I nodded and went back to drinking. This probably wasn't the best idea since I know I get a bit hands when i'm drunk....

Karen's Point of View

I woke up to the next morning to see Sam standing next to my bed. "Babes why are you out of bed?" he smiled and I picked him up. "You're 1. How'd you get out of the crib?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled "Okay than let's get you some breakfast baby cakes." I smiled and got out of bed and carried Sam downstairs with me. "What does mommy and baby want to eat for breakfast before mommy needs to go to work and baby goes to day care." I ended up getting myself a poptart and some apple sauce for Sam.

I pulled up to day care and picked Sam up "Let's go baby." I took him inside and he smiled at me "Bye babes." I kissed Sam's forehead and walked back into the car.

I pulled up to the shop and walked inside carrying my stuff. "Hey Karen." Megan smiled at me "Hey." I said back I walked into my station and started setting up my stuff like it was any other day of work. Boy was I wrong....
