My name is Makoto Naegi. I'm 18 years old and starting my first year of college at Okayama University. Okayama is one of the best universities where I'm from, it's actually really hard to get in.
Believe it or not, I was actually pretty average at everything. My grades weren't anything special, I barely passed my classes. You're probably thinking how did someone like me get into such an amazing school? Well I'll tell you.
Luck.
Yep. You heard right. I was just lucky.
My parents died in a car accident when I was really young. Actually, I was present during the accident. They say it's a miracle I survived. Must be that luck again right? Or was I really that lucky?
The only family that lived close was my aunt on my moms side. She took me in and has raised me since. It was just the two of us for a while, but two years ago she met a man and has been dating him ever since.
Anyways, that's besides the point. The point is the only reason I'm attending Okayama is because my aunt is a professor there. She did a lot to get me into the school. Why? Okayama is the school my parents dreamed of me attending. I never would've been accepted if it wasn't for my aunt pulling some strings.
Today is my first day as a first year college student. My aunt told me I needed to work three times harder than everyone else to keep up here. I promised her I'd do whatever it took to graduate from this place.. for my parents.
I had put my major down for literature. Mainly because my auntie was the head literature professor, but I was also very interested in the subject growing up.
I was dedicated to accomplish great things for my parents. Even if they were no longer here.. I still wanted to make them proud. My aunt was all for my enthusiasm, in fact, she even said she'd look out for a mentor to help my experience go even smoother. I was grateful for her, lord knows I was going to need all the help I could get.

I pulled out one of the chairs and seated myself, scooting up to the table. The class wasn't a very large class. There was maybe 15 people in it at most, despite that they sure were talkative. I thought I should probably make some friends while I'm here to experience the proper college lifestyle but nobody here really picked my interest. After the bell rang, a tall blonde man with a thin pair of glasses walked into the lecture hall. The class immediately fell silent. That was weird, right? Who was this guy and why was he late?
The slim man reached upwards and pulled down a long projector screen. Was he the professor? No.. that wouldn't make sense. My aunt is the professor. Who is this dude?
The man grabbed a small remote and pointed it towards the projector, turning it on. He then bent down in front of a laptop on the professors desk and began to type. The class shifted their attention to the projector and watched the letters appear on the screen as he typed them.
T O G A M I
Togami? Was that his name?
"Togami." He spoke after clearing his voice, grabbing the attention of everyone there.
"My name is Togami. I'm not your professor for this course. Instead I'm a third year student instructor that will take the place of your professor when she can't be here." He placed his right index finger on the center of his glasses and lifted them up closer to his face.
"Any questions?" He asked, looking around the room intimidatingly.
One girl from in front of me with short black hair raised her hand. Togami looked over at the girl and raised his eyebrows, "Yes?"
