Cerridwen Cullen certainly never expected to be sitting in the backseat of a Porsche with her mother and human friend sitting in the front; speeding through the Italian countryside, however with life with the Cullen's, one must expect the unexpected.
At not even at the age of one, young Cerridwen was left at the Cullen's home in Alaska one fateful day with a letter from her birth mother only leaving the child's name and begging the vampire clan to take her in and keep her safe. On the account that Rosalie and Emmett were enjoying time traveling away from the family at the time, Alice and Jasper took over the role of parents, as young Cerridwen cried when in anyone else's arms; and Esme and Carlisle took the role of the doting grandparents. This arrangement only worked because Cerridwen is special.

When Cerridwen was little, the Cullen's found that she had a certain affinity with nature, and could bend it to her will, she enjoyed helping her grandma Esme with the gardens; and helping the seeds sprout within moments helped the realization that little Cerridwen was not quite human. Which evolved when her powers did, along with the fact that she did not quite smell human. She smelt comforting to all of the vampires, and her scent did not cause their throats to burn. Another thing to note is that Cerridwen was always a quite even tempered child, she wasn't rambunctious or one to throw tantrums; yet when she did kick up a fuss at being left out one day at the age of six, and items began to fly around on their own; the belief that she was something inhuman solidified in her families mind.
