Hermione and Harry were on patrol the first night. Both of them had Care of Magical Creatures as a late morning class. Ginny and Parkinson were also patrolling, much to the Slytherin's dismay.
The two of them finally agreed on the west side of the castle so they headed off. Hermione and Harry took the east side, which was good cause the library was her favourite place to patrol as a Prefect. The other pair, a Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff, took the centre of the castle.
Harry and Hermione split up, with only three pairs and a few thousand students to usher into bed, they figured this would save some time. Hermione took the lower floors and Harry headed upstairs.
She decided to check the library first. She didn't actually believe that anyone would be in there, but what was the harm in checking? She opened the large double doors to find, there were actually people sitting at the tables, three of them in fact.
She recognized them as first years which meant it was passed their curfew. The whispering stopped as Hermione approached the table. "Do you know what time it is?" She asked.
The blonde haired girl giggled. "You're Hermione Granger."
"I am. And you are?"
"Maria, this is Angel," she pointed to the black haired girl, "and this is Ellie," the brown haired girl waved.
"Well, Maria, Angel, Ellie, do you know it's almost 10?"
"Yes!" They exclaimed together.
Hermione chuckled. "Well then what are you doing in the library? It's passed your curfew."
"We wanted to meet you!" Ellie chirped. "Everyone knows this is your favourite place in the school!"
Hermione smiled. "Yes it is, but usually I hide in here to study, not ambush people." She made sure the three young girls could tell that she was joking.
"We just wanted to meet the girl who saved the Wizarding World!" Angel squeaked.
Hermione laughed, sitting down on the table next to them. "Harry saved the Wizarding World, I was just along for the ride."
"But you're the smart one! You save him at least once a year! There's no Wizard World without Hermione Granger," Maria said, matter of factly.
"Well, that's very kind of you, but it's time to head to your common rooms."
The three girls looked at each other and started whispering so quietly, Hermione was shocked they could hear each other. The only thing she managed to make out was "you ask" and "he's so cute".
After a minute of deliberation Ellie looked at Hermione and giggled. "Are you friends with Draco Malfoy?"
She raised an eyebrow. "No."
Angel scrunched up her nose. "But you walked into the Great Hall together, didn't you?"
"Yes, but-"
"But he's hot!" Maria interrupted.
Hermione laughed. "I think he's a little old for you."
"But not for you!"
Hermione shook her head. "We're not friends, although I will have to agree," she leaned forward and lowered her voice, "he is kind of hot."
The three girls squealed. "You should be friends!" Ellie exclaimed while the other two nodded.
"I don't think so, he hates me, and he's a right arrogant prat."
Angel scrunched her face up again. "Then why did he send Dobby to save you from his Aunt?"
