Freedom?

I woke up with a start in a dark room. I could feel something around my wrists and ankles, preventing me from moving. I struggled a bit, but then gave up.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" I asked into the darkness. There was no reply. Not even a shuffle of feet. Silence. I attempted to activate either one of my Songs in attempt to free myself. I couldn't activate them. I was starting to panic. Why wouldn't my Songs work? Where was I? What is happening? I heard a gasp beside me.
"Who's there?" I hissed at them.
"Geez Kayla, it's only me," Taria responded. I sighed in relief. "Any idea where we are?"
"Not a clue."
"I'm guessing you're tied down as well?"
"Yep." A growl sounded behind me. "Argh, they have no lights, and no lights means undead."
"And we can't defend ourselves. We have quite the case of being dead soon." A light shined in from a window. "I guess we now know where we are . We're in an interrogation chamber." Light flooded the room, blinding us for a moment. Muffled voices from the other side of the window could be heard. Then a scream.
"We can't let them get eaten! Someone take care of that zombie!" I heard a lock click, then someone stepped into the room. I couldn't see who they were because I couldn't move.
"Oh, and Xander, can you please untie them?" A feminine voice asked.
"Yeah, sure," Xander replied. He killed the zombie, then untied Taria. She jumped up and got him into a headlock.
"Tell us where we are, now!" She growled.
"If you're going to attack me, I won't untie the other." She let go with a growl and Xander untied me. Taria got him into a headlock again. I snatched the sword he had on him and studied it. It was Abalyes' sword.
"What did you do to Abalyes?" I asked, hissing the 's' on the end of her name. Xander flinched.
"I found it. I don't know who this 'Abalyes' person is," he replied.
"Where are the others?"
"Uh, your group was split into four different interrogation rooms. One's all by themselves. They did kill a guard though."
"Who killed a guard?" Taria asked.
"Don't know their name, but they had red-orange, I'm guessing you call them markings. Tall and very strong. They're also female."
Taria smiled. "Oh Gallaniara, always getting herself into trouble."
"Is she always like that?"
"No, but her brother is." Taria tightened her arm around Xander's throat. "I could be as well."
"Wait Taria," I said. She loosened her arm slightly. "Where's our stuff?"
"Everything was taken off of you all. Including those glowy cubes," Xander answered, gasping for air.
"Where is it?"
"I'm not telling you." She tightened her arm again. "Okay, okay!" It loosened again. "It's in the chest room. Good luck trying to find your stuff though."
"Taria, no one's coming to help him, do what you want with him." I heard a crack as she tightened her arm again.
"I broke his neck," she said in a flat tone. An alarm sounded.
"Can you believe it? They just watched him die."
"They may as well be murderers themsleves."
"I've got Abalyes' sword. I'll see if I can do something to the door." I stuck the sword between the crack of the door and its frame. I sliced the lock and threw open the door.
"Let's go get the others."
The alarm was still blaring and guards were starting to run into the building we were in. We found Risana and Abalyes first. They both were already untied. I sliced the lock on their door and they ran out.
We then found my father and my uncle. They were at opposite sides of the room, staring each other down. I guess Galleous hasn't forgiven my father. Not even the tiniest bit. I sliced the lock and my uncle came out first, then my father.
It was a bit harder to find the cell my mother was held in, there were so many of them. About a minute later, and a few guards that now littered the ground, we found my mother. She had her hands bound and was leaning against the wall opposite of the window that allowed you to look into the room. I slid Abalyes' sword through the gap and sliced the lock. My mother ran up to me.
"You're the only one with a sword. Are you able to slice this?" She asked me, putting her hands forward. I cut the bindings and she shook her hands.
"Any idea how we're gonna get out of here?" Taria wondered out loud. The alarm was still blaring.
"We need to find our stuff. We can't leave Songs here." Taria agreed and we all sprinted towards the back of the building.

In the maze of storage chests, we had managee to lose the guards that were chasing after us. I hadn't found anything that was ours. I opened another chest and looked through it. Nothing. I groaned and opened yet another chest.
"Has anyone had any luck yet?" Abalyes shouted to everyone.
"Abalyes, we don't know if the guards are in here or not!" I managed to hear my mother whisper-shout.
"The alarm has stopped."
"Gallaniara stop being so paranoid. They've probably given up," Taria said loudly.
"It doesn't help that we don't know where we are," my mother pointed out. "They know this place better than we do. They could find us easily."
"They'd be terrified of the idea that two murderers are loose."
"Who else killed a guard?"
"I did. I snapped their neck." I heard shuffles coming from over Taria's way. "Oh guess what I've found!"
"What did you find?"
"All of our stuff in one chest!"
"You've got to be kidding me." I made my way over to her. She got all of our stuff out and dumped it on the floor. I grabbed my sword and Songs, and gave back Abalyes her sword. Everyone else grabbed their stuff.
"Now we've got to find the exit without getting caught," my father said.
"Easier said than done," my uncle replied. He earned a glare from his brother. My mother rolled her eyes.
"Come on, we better get moving," she said, leading the way out of the storage room.

There were very few guards towards the exit of the building we were in. My mother, still leading the way, opened the exit door and cautiously stepped outside. We had been slightly underground, and there was a staircase that lead upwards. Once I had gotten up the staircase I gasped in shock and amazement. We were in a city. It had huge, tall buildings that stretched up to the sky, and there were gardens with flowers everywhere. People hurried about, paying no attention to us standing there, taking in the sight that layed before us. I honestly had thought that, once we were out of that place, we'd be free.
Maybe we weren't so free.
