Cecil

I sat under our tree and thought. I tried to think about anything but Xersa. Things like, what we'd do tomorrow and how it'd go, I even walked around some shops and went into some rundowns for something interesting. But it all came back to Xersa.

The shops had things that I could steal for Xersa and so did the rundowns. Tomorrow, I'd be seeing Xersa. Xersa, Xersa, Xersa, it's all about Xersa with me.

I pushed myself up from the dead ground and begin to walk back to my house. It's shabby but it's a house. I walk in and see my two brothers lying on a shared air mattress. There's only two rooms in the house and my mom and I got one each, so my brothers shared a bed in the family room.

I climbed into my bed and sighed, picking up a book from my mess of floor. Using the streetlight thats right outside my window, I read a bit. My mom taught me to read when I was young and she's working on teaching my brother.

There's a knock at the door and my brother's come in.

"Yeah?" I ask, peeking over my book. They're holding their shared blanket.

"Can we sleep with you?" I fold my book page and say 'yes'. I help lift them onto my lifted bed and place them on the bed.

"Goodnight, Cece," Markus says, cuddling into his brother, Theodore.

"Night, buddy," They fall fast asleep and I sneak out of my bed. Guess I'm not sleeping tonight.

When morning arose, I went into the family room where my mom was making food.

"I'm gonna go to Xersa's," I say, stretching.

"Eat first," She mumbles, sliding an egg onto a plate.

"No thanks," I say, and disappear through the door.

The walk to Xersa's is chilly with snow littering the ground. It never snows here so I didn't take into consideration about the temperature.

I held my shoulders and arms closer to my body to preserve warmth as I walked through the town, stopping at shops along the way.

I finally arrived at Xersa's and snuck in through the side window in the basement that connected to Xersa's room.

She stumbles awake as I land on her bed with a thud.

"Morning, Xer!" I greet, sliding under the blanket next to her, being careful of Flower. Her body is warm as I press myself up against her and she sleepily rolls into my arms, cuddling into my chest and goes back to bed.

I inhale and fall asleep too.
