Chapter 6, Part 1: Dinner for Ice Cream
Allison
Today is Thursday, May 13th.
The weekdays went by as quick as the weekends went, the day after the volunteering program has been nothing but work, work, work.
At least today is my chance to take a break from studying as my classes end before lunch, which means I'll be free to do whatever after.
Today is also an important day for Amber, who invited Danny and I to watch her play striker for the first time. So, it's no question whether we're going on or not.
It's almost three in the afternoon and I have changed into my black colored biker shorts and a black cropped t-shirt in which I paired it with my nude colored Nike SBs.
After filling up my bottle with cold water at the water dispenser, I made my way towards the soccer field located just beside the football field to meet Danny and Amber.
As I walked along the courtyard bay, I couldn't help but be reminded of what happened the other day with Patricio.
I wasn't sure whether I crossed a boundary before, but, these past few days he made it pretty clear to me now that I did.
Since that day, I haven't cross paths with Patricio at all. If I'm lucky I would see him at the cafeteria and heading towards the administrative office.
What's worst is that we made eye contact, I smiled at him but he wouldn't return the gesture like I wasn't even there.
Usually, I would beg for something like this, but, I didn't expect how hurtful it could feel when getting it from someone you learned to care about.
"Allie!" Amber's voice could be heard from a distance. I quickened my pace to reach the bleachers I assume she's at.
Amber who's in her soccer jersey waved at me to come over, "Hey! How are you feeling?" I grinned pulling her into a hug.
Amber hugged me tighter, "Nervous, I feel like I'm about to puke out my lunch". I quickly pulled away "Don't puke on me" I joked.
Amber rolled her eyes playfully "Come on, you're going to be great and I know it" I chuckled. Amber's lips broke into a smile, "Thanks Allie, where's Danny?" she asked.
"Oh, you know him, he's always late" I shrugged as we climbed up to the last level of the bleachers.
"Or making out with Sophie by now" she mumbled. "What?" I asked in shock.
Amber turned towards me and chuckled "Kidding, but, they've been spending time together a lot nowadays".
I smiled, "Yeah, he told me he wanted to bring her to homecoming".
Amber gasped, "Seriously? That's just great he has a date, you have a date, and the only one who's date-less here is me" she sighed in frustration.
"That makes the two of us" I sighed as I took a seat.
"What? Why? I thought you guys have been talking" she questioned. "I don't think Patricio is in the question anymore"
"Besides, he probably already has a date for homecoming" I shrugged. "What actually happened?" she questioned again.
