Am I enough ?

He doesnt have time.

Zoe's POV:
Lunch was almost over and the three of us were getting up to go to our classes. When I spot Rafael. I look at him also preparing to leave when I get an idea. I can go and talk to him ! If he thinks we are friends , he would want to have a conversation with me and maybe we can actually start talking at uni other than just the library.

I walk over but because of so many people rushing inside the classes , I lose him. I spot a girl who was earlier sitting with Rafael. Maybe she knows where he is !

" hey , umm I am Zoe , do you know Rafael ?"

Samantha: " yeah , I know him."

Zoe: " well , I just wanted to ask if you know where he went ? I wanted to talk to him about something."

Samantha: " huhhh , whattt exactly did you want to talk to him about ?"

This took me by surprise , I dint know what to tell her. For god's sake , I dint even know what to tell Rafael ! Maybe this was all a bad idea. But , now I need to pull through.

Zoe: I ummm , I wanted to ask him if he can tutor me in math. We talked about it earlier and I just wanted to know if he would be free to do that.

Samantha: what ! Tutor you ? Hmm , no sorry. He was talking to me about how busy he gets and he doesn't even have time for himself. I don't think he would be able to or want to tutor you.

Zoe: oh ! Okay ! No problem ! I am so sorry I even bothered you about it. Ummm , yeah. Its alright. Thanks for letting me know though.

Hmmm , I dint expect that. I am glad I couldn't actually approach him. He is busy and I would have made it awkward by asking him to tutor me. But , mom said he told her that he would want to tutor me...
I think he just said it in the spur of the moment. But he also said that we were friends... did he just say it without considering it ? Does he even care to be my friend ? I shouldn't force my friendship on him then. This kind of bummed me out.

I walk back to my class , this one , I share with Cole. As I walk in , Cole's head shoots up and when I reach him he asks me where I was after lunch and that him and Shay were looking for me. I apologise to him for leaving without telling. I was too excited to go and talk to Rafael. Well , that dint work out.

"Hey , Zoe. Are you alright ? You don't seem as happy as before." Cole whispers. I look at him and realise , I am not as happy as before. Which isn't fair to Shay or Cole because atleast they are my friends and I shouldn't be so droopy around them. I just smile at him and tell him its nothing. He nods and looks ahead.

As class gets over , I and Cole were walking to meet Shay in the parking lot , I decided on asking Cole ,"Hey , umm can I ask you something ?". Cole looks at me surprised but nods his head yes. " If a guy says he is friends with you , is there a chance that he doesn't actually mean it and is just saying it without meaning it ?". Cole looks at me for a second. Then says ," No , usually not. Most guys would only talk to you or would say you are friends if they really want to hang out with you. But , some guys aren't like that. They might just be playing around." ," why do you ask tho ? Is there something wrong ?". I grasp what he just told me. I look at him and say ." No , just had a random thought , nothing serious." At which he just nods. We reach Shay in the parking lot the two go to their cars to go back home. Cole asks me if I would like to take a ride home but I decline , it was amazing weather and I really wanted to get rid of my sad mood before hanging out with other people because I just don't want to be that annoying person who always dwells around people and I know its not a big deal.
