A tear fell
A single tear
From her hooded eyes
From her wet lashesHer lifts lifted
In a brief smile
Small and Painful
But it went unseenShe breathed
A whisper so soft
Words of goodbye
That went unheardShe turned
Her heart heavy
With sorrow
And confessions unspokenShe looked ahead
Seeing months of waiting
For her love, her soldier
To come home.- Millie
*****I was feeling a little patriotic given that today is Republic day. And then, this old piece of writing came to my mind and I thought that today would be the perfect day to post it...
