Hey this is my first fanfic so I'm sorry if it's bad
Anyways on with the story
6:30 thats the time her alarm went off at, she sits up with a grunt and rubs the sleep from her eyes and turns off her alarm. Getting up was the worst especially getting up early for work, but thats how life works, well at least thats how it works for hoshiko, lives alone at the age of 16 due to family issues, works in a local cafe. She lives a very simple and carefree lifestyle, she has her secrets but she keeps to herself most of the time so there is no need to share them with anyone.
She got ready to go to work, made coffee, put her uniform on and got her bag ready. Hoshiko left her apartment at 7 and walked down the road to her job. The cafe was a ten minute walk from her apartment which wasn't that bad. She grabs the keys from her bag and unlocks the door, she opens the shutters to let the light in and starts taking the chairs off the tables. She was just finished taking the last chair down when her co-worker came in, they said a small hello before he went out back to the kitchen while hoshiko continues to get the cafe ready.
she finished 15 minutes before they have to open so she went to the kitchen to get her apron, as she was grabbing it her co-worker came out of the bathroom. "damn hoshiko you need more sleep you look awful", "thanks mark didn't realize that before", "hey im only kidding you but seriously how are you doing you look more exhausted than usual", "im fine don't worry about it ok, we have a few minutes till opening so im going to get a cup of coffee you want one", "nah im good but please hoshiko take care of yourself ok", "yeah yeah i will don't worry so much you'll get wrinkles haha". After that comment hoshiko went running out of the kitchen with mark high on her tail with a wooden spoon in hand. she runs behind the counter and poured herself another cup of coffee and stood at the counter while drinking it so mike can't hit her with the spoon, not like he was going to but with him you'll never know what he would do. They had five more minutes left before they have to open, "hey mark is yuu coming in today", "nah she has the day off so you'll be here on your own till lunch then kuroo is coming in till closing", "ah ok thanks". Hoshiko turned the sign on the door and unlocked it so customers could come in.
Breakfast was really busy, more and more people came in and the line was a million miles long. Hoshiko had enough of people screaming in her face for taking so long. "alright listen up im going to make two lines one for coffee and the other is for food i'll take the food peoples order first then make coffee for as many customers as i can". People went quiet then started making two lines. hoshiko had three peoples food orders done and half of the coffee line was done. By the time she was finished her shift she was even more exhausted than when she came in. Mark was very worried about her health and told her to sit down and he'll make her something. at this point kuroo has come in to work his shift. "hey hoshiko what are you still doing here i thought you would have been at home by now", "hey kuroo nah i stayed here cause mark made me sit down and is currently making me food", "ah i see well i best get to work talk later", "talk later kuroo, mark when is this food going to be done", "give it a minute i just put it on to cook god so impatient". Hoshiko stuck her tounge out at him.
Hoshiko was waiting for her food and complaining to mark at how long its taking. Mark mumbled something in Korean while cooking the food. "you know im still working and have other peoples orders to do stupid so your gonna have to wait and i swear if you make one more complaint i will smack you with my spatula", "ughh fine i wont make any more complaints", "good". Hoshiko has always been amazed at how his attitude can change so quick, she finds it cool how he can do that. She started humming a song while on her phone, the atmosphere was calm and nice with the humming of a simple tune and the sizzle of food being cooked, it felt nice and safe.
Until it was interrupted by kuroo bursting into the kitchen. Both mark and hoshiko jumped at the sudden loud noise that ran through the kitchen. "KUROO WHAT THE FUCK MAN", "sorry its just pro hero hawks is here and wanted hoshiko, i got excited sorry mark", "its alright just be more calmer ok", "ok" and with that kuroo went back to work. Mark rubbed his temples and let out a sigh, "sorry hoshiko i didn't mean to yell", "hey its ok don't worry about it, it took me by surprise i've never seen you yell and swear in the same sentence it was cool to watch", mark chuckled and ran his hand through his hair and sighed again. he stood there for a minute before getting back to work, he plating hoshikos food and handed it too her. "before you go out to meet keigo i need you to eat something ok, you don't have to finish it but at least eat a small bit", he patted and kissed the top of her head and walked back to the counter where he started cutting vegetables for other peoples dishes.
hoshiko ate half of her plate before she felt like getting sick so she stopped, mark looked up from the pan he was using in to see hoshiko push her plate away from her, "did you have enough?", "yeah it was tasty thank you for making it", "it wasn't a problem, i'll tell kuroo to bring keigo in cause you still look pale and tired ok", "ok and mark thank you". Mark just smiled and walked out of the kitchen to find kuroo.
He came back with kuroo and keigo following behind him, when keigo saw hoshiko he smiled and ran up to her. "hey bud i missed you ", he engulfed her in a hug and lifted her off the chair. "alright keigo stop spinning her around she just finished eating", "wops sorry, anyway how have you been", "i'm good, how are you", "i'm good too, have you been eating enough your still really really light and a bit pale", "i'm fine keigo don't worrry now can you put me down please", "yeh sorry". He sat her back on the stool that was there and stood beside mark.
they all talked for a bit before kuroo had to get back to work, and when he left mark walked over to hoshiko and patted her head before going over to the stove and turned it on. While he was cooking more orders keigo and hoshiko talked a bit more before keigo had to leave, he left after giving hoshiko a hug and walked over to mark and leaned into his ear "text me later about how she's really doing she looks more and more tired and drained every time i see her", "don't worry i will". Keigo smiled and said his goodbyes before leaving the cafe.
Hoshiko checked the time and groaned, she put her phone back in her pocket and went to get her bag, mark was cleaning the kitchen since it was almost closing time. Hoshiko desided to help kuroo clean up by putting some chairs up and wiping the counter down.
When the three of them were done cleaning mark and kuroo went and got changed out of their uniform. They locked up and went on a small walk to the bus station where they dropped off kuroo, "are you sure you don't want to come to the mall with us", "im sure hoshiko thanks for asking but i'd rather spent some time with my boyfriend", "ok get home safe oh and tell kenma i said hi and to come by sometime i miss him", "will do have fun you too". They left kuroo and walk over to marks car, he got his keys from his jacket pocket and unlocked the doors, "did i ever tell you how much i love your car", "yes you have many many times", "well i feel i don't say it enough", "shut up being an idiot", "what im just saying", "oh my god please just shut up my poor car doesn't need this". They laugh and talk on the way to the mall.
They go into many shops, they are currently in a gaming store looking through all the games, "so what was keigo whispering to you", "non of your business", "you only get defensive if your hiding something or its about me or both", "fine it is about you, he's worried about you and wants me to text him later", "see was that so hard to say, what does he want to know about me and why won't he text me", "he wants to know how your doing", "but i told him i'm fine so why is he asking you", "cause he doesn't believe you hoshiko and if im being honest if i was in his place neither would i". Hoshiko didn't say anything back and looked at the other games. "are you really giving me the silent treatment right now", "no i didn't have anything to say is all and i want to look at more games so can we please drop it", "fine if thats what you want".
