1st Person POV

I watched Tanjiro write in his journal, the two of us getting ready for bed. I was just staring at the peaceful night sky, listening to the nature outside as he closed the little book.

He turned and smiled to me, a small gesture that I returned. He blew the candle out, leaving us in the dark as we went to sleep.

"Goodnight Tanjiro, goodnight Nezuko."

"You too."
He replied, before the two of us went out like a light until the next morning, tired.

And as usual, we got ready for more training, bidding goodbye to our still sleeping Nezuko.

Tanjiro would often worry about her, considering Nezuko hasn't woken up for a while.
I'm sure she'll wake up soon, though. Maybe demons just need to rest a lot longer than us humans do.

"Let's go."
Urokodaki called for us, and we soon followed.

As we trained, we learned more about demon slayers from Mr. Urokodaki, and he once told us :

"The Demon Slayer Corps. We number in the hundreds. An orginaztion completely unrecognized by the government. Since ancient times, we have existed to hunt down demons. However, the identity of the Demon Slayer's leader has always remained a mystery."

He would also explain to us how demons only lived off human blood, their enhanced strength and regeneration abilities incredibly quick, even able to grow back limbs in almost a flash. The only way to kill them is either direct contact with sunlight, or decapitation with a special type of sword.

At the moment, me and Tanjiro now faced the mountain traps again, using the same strategy as before, but now we were even more agile, and didn't need to hold onto each other to pass. As long as we could hear each other, we were just fine.

But of course, the stronger we got, the worse the traps became. He even included knives for heaven's sake! I almost had my stomach slit open by one!

But, once we make it down safely, Mr. Urokodaki spoke to us about our training.

"My job is to teach new swordsmen. There are many more trainers, and each one has a unique method of education. To complete your training and join the Demon Slayer Corps, you two will have to survive the Final Selection process on Mount Fujikasane."

"It's up to you if you choose to take that challenge or not."

Every day, Mr. Urokodaki would make us train harder and harder, Even making us stop depending on each other and doing the mountain run one at a time.

I will admit, it was harder without Tanjiro, but my eyes wouldn't lie to me, so spotting traps wasn't that hard once I got used to it.

We were back in our room tonight, Tanjiro trying to stand on one leg with his sword, shaking like a twig.

"What are you doing?"
