"Ow!" I whispered, shaking my hand. It was late at night, about 2 in the morning, and I couldn't sleep, so I was tinkering, and I had accidentally hit my hand with the hammer. I was thinking about yesterday. Calypso had asked me to Homecoming with a song. Thalia played guitar for her, and Nico had chimed in with a triangle. I could tell he was trying not to laugh the whole time. But overall, it was pretty great.
Humming, I put down my hammer, and picked up a screw driver. I was trying to build a robot dog. I thought it would be cool to have a dog that doesn't need anything, which would be helpful considering we could go into battle at any moment.
"Hey Leo."
"Ah!" I yelped, spinning around.
"Would it kill you to knock?" I demanded, putting down my tools. Jason came in with a sheepish grin.
"Sorry, I thought I heard you awake."
"Its cool. What's up?" I asked. He shrugged.
"I mean, we still haven't found a way to tell our friends that their demigods."
"Yeah, but they'll find out eventually."
"But what if it's too late? You know what can happen." Jason fiddled with his glasses. I sighed. He had a point. All of us at one school was bound to be a problem, even with the gods's small protection spell. Soon enough monsters would swarm the school. Honestly, it was shocking they hadn't already.
"So, how's school?" I asked awkwardly. Quick note kids! If you ever need to get out of an awkward conversation, ask someone how their day was or how school was! Its very awkward and easy to get out of an awkward conversation! (So....much....awkward)
"Fine." Jason said, still obviously focused on our friend dilemma. I sighed.
"Look, we'll figure it out later, okay? But right now, if we tell them, it'll ruin their lives." I said, turning back to my tinkering.
"Ok. I don't know about this, but I'll trust you." Jason said, standing up.
"Whoa, I never said to trust me! Honestly that's slightly idiotic and you should really look into another option." I said holding up my hands. Jason smiled.
"Thanks Leo. And hey, I would trust you with my life." He said, leaving the room. I looked at the door. Glad someone trusted me. Sometimes even I didn't trust me. Like my plan from the Giant War? I didn't exactly trust myself considering that I would have to die. And I guess I did technically die. Which was still strange to think about. I tried not to, it was weird, but some nights like tonight I couldn't escape it. It all started with the dream, as usual. I was flaming Gaea and well, died. But than I was in a black pit, with a ray of light above. I would try to climb towards it, but I'd fall. Every time I tried to climb it, the ray would get smaller. People would appear at the hole and beg me to come up and help them but I'd fall before I got the chance. I haven't told anyone. I also haven't told them that that was what my death was like. It was weird, but true, and unlike a lot of deaths apparently. I didn't want anyone to worry, so I kept it to myself. I sighed and put down my hammer. I was actually kinda tired now. I climbed into bed and closed my eyes. Than one sentence flashed in my mind.
Beware the Masquerade.A/N- Sorry it's been so long! But here's a chapter! What's up with Leo's dreams? What will happen at the Masquerade?
Question- Whose POV shall I do next? I think maybe Cassie's...but would y'all prefer a different one?
Until next time my Fluffy Baguettes!
