"Cassandra Scarlett" professor McGonagall called. I diverted my attention to the sorting ceremony and saw her. She was a little nervous. I think she will get sorted into Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. "Slytherin" the hat yelled. What? Slytherin? How?
She sat on the corner of the table uncomfortably. Every Slytherin stared at her with disgust. My gaze automatically fixed on her. How can a mudblood become a Slytherin? Her Hogwarts life is going to be miserable.
Cassie POV
Professor Dumbledore gave a speech and also explained about house points. At last, which house gets more points will claim the house cup. And varieties of foods appeared on our table. Every Slytherin glared at me. I saw Pansy Parkinson near malfoy and she is looking at me with a disgusting look.
"Why everyone is staring at me?" I asked Lucy. "Because Slytherin is the house for purebloods and some halfblood wizards and witches. since you're muggle-born, they are staring at you," she answered with a pity look in her eyes.
"Are you a pureblood?" I asked her. "Yes, my parents were in Slytherin," she said.
"But don't worry, I will always support you," she said in a dramatic way which made me laugh. Then we followed our prefect to our common room. Lucy and I went to the girl's dormitory.
Each room had four beds. I placed my belongings in the bed near the window. Lucy placed her belongings in the bed on the right side. Then the door opened to reveal Parkinson and a fat girl. Oh shit. "See who is there, Millicent" Pansy told the fat girl. I rolled my eyes and ignored her.

The next day, Lucy and I went to the great hall for breakfast. I saw Harry and Ron at the Gryffindor table. I walked towards the Gryffindor table and waved at them. I sat near Harry across from Hermione and Ron. "How's Slytherin?"Ron questioned me.
"Not bad" I replied. "Are you ok?" Hermione asked with a concerned face.
"Yeah!" I lied to comfort her. I grabbed her timetable parchment to see her schedule. "We have portions together," I told with a smile.
"Then we can meet each other in portion class," Harry told with a smile on his face. "Yeah" I told by grinning.
Then I marched towards Lucy at the Slytherin table. Lucy and I checked our timetable. We have some classes together. Then, We ate our breakfast together.
I went to my dormitory to take my books to class. After taking, I walked into the common room. Suddenly, I knocked on someone and my books were fallen. I raised my head to see Draco Malfoy with Crabbe and Goyle.
"Open your eyes while walking, Scarlett" he ordered me full of rage in his eyes.
"You're the one who bumped into me, Malfoy" I retorted back. He glared at me with anger. Why was he angry?
"How can you talk like that?" Goyle asked.
"Leave her Goyle, we should not waste our time on a filthy mudblood," Malfoy told Goyle and went outside the common room. I picked my books from the floor and let out a sigh. My life was getting harder and harder.
DRACO POV
I entered the great hall and walked towards the Slytherin table. I scanned the table to see someone, but she wasn't there. I sat on the table and my eyes settled on the Gryffindor table to see her. She sat near that Potter and talking to Weasely and Granger. Then she grinned from ear to ear and Potter smiled at her. Are they doing any jokes? Why is she laughing like that?
"Draco, is there anything wrong?" Pansy asked me. She is always bothering me.
"No," I told emotionlessly.
"Why are you staring at the Gryffindor table?" she asked with confusion.
"Nothing," I told and exited the great hall.
I went to the common room and sat in the coach. After some time, I saw Crabbe and Goyle approaching me. I stood up and walked with them. Suddenly, someone bumped into me. It was Scarlett and her books fell on the floor. I snapped some harsh words for bumping into me. she countered back. I glared at her with anger. She was confused by looking at my angry face.
"How can you talk like that?" Goyle asked. "Leave her Goyle, we should not waste our time on a filthy mudblood," I told to Goyle and exited the common room.
