Third Person's View

"Taehyung-ah! Come here! I got something for you."

Grandma called his only grandson from their terrace for a surprise. Grandmas really like surprises, don't they?

"Okay I'm coming!"

Taehyung shouted and stand after to stretch his back for working in the farm. He obediently walks carefully to prevent himself from sliding into the mud of rice.

Grandma smiles upon seeing his grandson coming to her way.

"Taehyung-ah, I have something to show you" Grandma said excitedly.

"What is it Grandma?" he asked innocently.

Grandma took an old-styled device for photography.

Taehyung widened his eyes upon seeing the Instant camera.

"Where did you get this Grandma? Did you bought this?"

Grandma smiled widely.

"Yes. Remember the old store that sells antique things besides the convenience store? It happened to be on sale and it was my first time seeing a camera like this! He said it's a new generation camera but inspired by an old camera." Grandma said happily with sparkling eyes.

Taehyung's heart went happy but at the same time sympathy as he heard the word "first time".  He knows she hasn't experienced anything about it in her youth years. He felt softhearted as he looks at her Grandma in an ignorant state. She's really old for not knowing what's new and being excited about little things.

"I bought this when we went together to buy food in the convenience store. It caught my attention when we were passing by going to the store."

"H-how? How did you buy it, Grandma?" Taehyung asked in disbelief.

"Well, did I tell you to pay for the food alone? And you did so. I bet you didn't notice that I sneak out. I know it'll take you some time. The old seller man was able to explain to me how this works."

"That was last week. You didn't tell me. And the money? Did you pay all your savings?" now he asked with eyes widened.

"Don't you worry Tae. I really save the money to buy you fancy things. I know this camera is really memorable."

Opposite from the expected reaction, Taehyung sighed.

"Grandma...what if a thief came to you? What are you gonna do? Or what if you got hit by a car? You can't just walk alone."

Grandma smiled with pain seeing his grandson worrying about her. Taehyung is more serious and an innocent man rather than mischievous. Ever since his parents died, Taehyung became more protective of his Grandma. At least she stays longer.

"I can't risk your life for extravagant things." Taehyung hugged her Grandma and kissed her top head.

"Tae, what's important now is I'm safe and still with you. I really planned to buy you something expensive. It's my reward to you for working so hard." Grandma said in his arms and broke the hug. She held both his arms.

"Look at you, you didn't even bother shaving your beard. You don't buy new clothes even if it's already torn out even your underwear. You're still using the old slippers that you repaired many times. I don't want to see you looking so poor and trashy. You're handsome. You don't deserve looking like that. I wanted to buy you new clothes. Expensive clothes. But...I think memories matter the most." Grandma said with tears racing down her cheeks. Taehyung wiped it with his right thumb and smiled.

"I should be buying you something new rather than buying it for me. A grandson should be buying for his grandma. And...it's not your fault Grandma if I look like this. Its just that it's more comfortable and airy. My junior can breathe."

Grandma slapped his left arm slightly.

"You are really naughty. Go change for better clothes." She said going back to her "Normal Nagging Grandma" attitude.

"Why?" Tae asked.

"I'm gonna take a photo of you, right now. And don't forget to shave your beard. Now go. No buts." and she commanded Tae in an annoying state. Tae just scratched his head but obediently do it anyways.

...

"Okay pose!" Grandma shouted but no photo paper is escaping from the camera.

"Why? Is this broken? I--"

Taehyung patiently went to his Grandma to teach her how it works but they ended up learning together how it works.

Once the photo paper was out, Taehyung walked back to his place in front of the coconut tree. He wore his go-to loose beige pants with a falling handkerchief in its belt hole, a matching white polo, and a hat. He didn't forget his Dad's necklace.

He posed himself straightly. Hands-on his pockets.

"Okay, 1 2 3!"

After a few seconds, the paper slowly showed up with a blurred image. A minute after, the photo was completely clear but in black and white.

"Ohh what a handsome guy! Look at yourself. You look more handsome." Grandma exclaimed happily.

Taehyung stared at his photo and smiled at his Grandma lovingly.
