~~~Another chapter done. Sorry for the wait. Song: Stickwitu By The Pussycat Dolls~~~
"I'm surprised at you," I said, eyeing Heather with interest out of the corner of my eye. After telling the girls about what transpired with Ken in Florida, they were surprisingly mute—especially Heather.
She narrowed her eyes in understanding, "Do you think so lowly of me, Daphne? The new year starts in seven hours, I'm going to start changing my ways as my New Year resolution."
Jo snorted and started spinning in Heather’s computer chair, "I wonder how long that will last."
Heather narrowed her eyes again. "What was that, Jo?"
Jo leaned back and shrugged, “I’m just saying…”
“Spit it out.”
I smiled to myself as Jo let out a long suffering breath and stopped the chair. She should have known better than to start something with Heather. “I’m just saying that it’s going to take a lot for you to change.”
Heather shook her head at me and then switched to Jo. “Thanks for the vote of confidence. It seems only Bonnie’s on my side.”
I could see Bonnie winced from where she sat on the carpet, "Well..."
Heather jumped off her bed in disbelief, showing her palms. "Wow, some friends I have.”
I rolled my eyes at Heather’s theatrics because to her it seemed that the world was out to get her as always. “Heather, you know Bonnie was just—”
Heather waved her hand in the air, dismissing the topic. “Whatever, I don’t even care! Let’s talk about the fact that I didn’t think you had the guts to cheat Noël especially when my stupid brother—”
I rose from the bed, “I didn’t cheat on Noël!”
“Heather, stop patronizing Daphne.” Bonnie’s unexpected voice cut through our would-be quarrel.
More unexpectedly was the fact that Heather listened and changed the subject matter entirely, "How was Raven’s party then?"
Bonnie exchanged a look with Jo before the both of them glanced at me. Heather and I also shared a look before turned back to the two. I turned back just in time to see Jo give Bonnie a little nod. Sure enough, Bonnie spoke. “Something happened between Raven and Noël at the party.”
I searched my brain wondering what she meant by that before I remembered Noël’s confession. How had I so stupidly forgotten the reason I wasn’t with my boyfriend this very second? I wondered if either of them had seen her kiss him. “I know.”
“You know?” Confusion flashed across Jo’s and Bonnie’s faces probably dumbstruck that I already knew what Raven had done.
Heather looked between the three of us even more confused, “What happened?”
I rolled off Heather’s bed in order to sit on the edge facing the girls. “I can't believe after everything I did for her, she's still a total bitch.”
Heather looked at Jo for help, “Whoa, why is Daphne swearing? What happened?”
She shrugged and lifted an eyebrow at me. “Umm, why are you calling Raven a bitch?”
Bonnie got off the ground as well to look at me strangely as well. “Yeah, all she did was spill fruit punch down Noël's shirt as a prank.”
I huffed out a breath and crossed my arms. They sure made that more ominous than that little prank needed to be. “That’s not all she did.”
