America's POV

"Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." That was the line once said by Tom Hanks in the movie Forrest Gump. I had no idea how much of that applies to my life and my relationship with my boyfriend Arthur. Sup dudes I'm America and I have a boyfriend named Arthur who's also a country. His name is England, but I always call him Iggy.

Before he became my boyfriend I declared independence and kinda broke Iggy's heart. Though it wasn't cause I hated him. Sure I declared war on him, but I thought if I became my own country then Iggy'll notice me and maybe like me back. I never knew I would end up hurting him. That's why I didn't dare look at him after he lost the war. I decided to not tell him and so I could become a better man. A man Iggy deserves to be with: A hero. That's why I always say that I'm the hero. Not for everyone else to hear but to remind myself that I'm the hero Iggy deserves to have.

If only I could tell him how I feel but I can't. I might of had an ego problem but now I'm struggling just to be considered good enough for Arthur. I'll tell Arthur how much I love him and how I long I've waited to tell him. I'll tell him that if he doesn't love me now I'll still love him and wait for him even if it takes 1,000 years. If he does love me back I'll tell him that I'll love him for 1,000 years and when those 1,000 years pass I'll tell I love him for 1,000 more. This is my story of how I tell Arthur I love him. It all started with a toy soldier.
