I stepped into Dr. White's office to find her sitting in her chair as usual. It seemed like she never moved.

"Hello, Miss Alice, it's always a pleasure to see you again." Dr. White said as I sat on the couch across from her. "So did you talk to any other patients here like I asked?"

"Believe it or not I have."

A smile crossed Dr. White's face. "I'm glad to hear that. We will discuss that some more next time. I would like you to continue being social. So I would like to discuss today the last few days you were at school before the incident happened to you."

Memories started to play in my mind like a movie. "Well I remember being in my English teachers class. He was giving us an assignment for a paper we had to write. We had to choose a book and write about how the book affected people."

"Is there anything else you can tell me about it? What else do you remember?"

"I remember starting to write out a beginner before I decided fully on what book I wanted to use. Studies show that when you read a book, you start to picture it within your mind like a movie unfolding on the screen. I'm sure everyone does. I know I do it all the time. You just can't help but get sucked into the world the writer is creating for you. You start to feel the different emotions the characters are going through as if they were your own. I remember crying in the middle of lunch at school from a book I was reading." I paused to gauge Dr. White's reaction. She was sitting there watching my every movement so I continued. "It took me a while to decide on which book I wanted to use. I remember searching through the shelves at our library when something stuck out to me. It was a large book that was worn in. The pages had yellowed and had been hand written on. Every last page seemed to tell a story of a different book."

"Did it ever say what the book was called?"

I scanned my mind while looking at the floor trying to remember the name. "I can't think of it."

"Try harder, Miss Alice. You need to remember if we are to continue on," Dr. White pushed. "You have to remember."

I closed my eyes and dug deeper into my thoughts. "I remember now," I said as I looked back at Dr. White.

"And what is it?"

"Wonderland."
