"Come on then Fred and George! This train station is packed with muggles" my mother shouted towards the twins in the back, those two were always causing delay and mischief, no matter where we went. I started to push my rather heavy trolley forward towards the entrance to the platform , my cat Delilah in her cage fast asleep, we reach the wall between platforms 9 and 10, I look up , the twins coming after standing a few steps beside Ron and I.
"Mum, can't I go.." Ginny said with a rather sad expression planted on her face. I look at Ginny, that girl was always one to go wherever we went.
"No Ginny you aren't old enough dear, now be quiet. Percy you go first" my mother said sternly, looking over in Percy's direction, he gripped onto his cart, fixing his robe a bit which seemed quite useless since he'd be running , Percy stepping back , his eyes directed straight at the barrier. He took a step back before launching himself directly in the middle, disappearing through."Hurry up Fred! Go through" my mother said looking at the twins, her arms folded.
"He's not Fred I am!" George exclaimed, acting annoyed. I knew what those two were up to already, it was quite clear, I let out a giggle, my mother looking over to what she thought was Fred and let out a sigh.
"Honestly woman, and you call yourself our mother!" George said afterwards, looking at Fred who looked at him.
"Oh sorry George, dear" my mother replied back. The twins pushed there trolleys in front of my mother, looking straight at her.
"Just kidding , I am Fred" Fred says running through the wall between the two platforms, George trailing behind him. I let out a laugh, those two never stopped with their little tricks and games. To be honest it was quite fun.
"Those two are just hilarious, and ridiculous, they never stop" My mother said turning to Ronald and I. Leaving me and Ron to go in last, I took a look at the barrier before re-fixing my eyes back on my mothers . Ron was my twin brother , though much people didn't really believe it.. I looked over at Ron, who gulped hardly as though this was the first scariest thing he's ever done, that boy is one of a clumsy person and sure has experienced far scarier things . My sister Ginny standing there, I look behind me and let out a smile towards her, her frown turns into a smile in less than a second.
"Excuse me" a boy said. I immediately spun around , one hand on the handle of my cart so it wouldn't get pushed away by all these moving tourists on the muggle platform. His hair was as black as tar , his hair getting in the way of his eyes. He looked at my mother, my mother looking down curiously at the boy.
"First time Hogwarts" my mother said letting out a big smile down at the boy "It's Ron and Isabella's first time too. They are both new" the boy looked over to me before letting out a smile , re directing his focus to what my mother was saying.
"Yes" said the boy "The thing is- the thing is, I don't know how to--"
"How to get on the platform?" my mother asked kindly, looking at the boy still. The boy nodded at my mother.
"Not to worry" she said "All you have to do is walk straight at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Don't stop and don't be scared you'll crash into it, that's important. Best do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous. Go on, go now before Ron and Isabella"
"Er-OK" The boy said, he pushed his trolley round and started at the barrier, it looked quite solid to me, I honestly had a feeling he'd crash straight into it. He started to walk towards it, people jostled him on their way to platforms nine and ten. The boy walked with more pace, he leaned forward on his trolley and broke into a heavy run. He become nearer and nearer to the barrier before disappearing through it with nothing but a scared face. It was clear the boy tried to stop it, but he couldn't quite, he had gotten scared and his trolley looked like it was beyond his reach to even stop.
"Go on then Ron and Isabella, your turn" I look up at Ginny who in still holding my mothers hand, nodding my head in agreement before turning my trolley around, I took a deep breath, then I began to sprint, I wanted to stop because I was also frightened but I knew I couldn't. A brush of cold air leaving goose bumps on my arms, as I get onto the platform I see a scarlet steam engine was waiting next a platform packed with students saying their goodbyes to their parents.
I looked up to see a sign , Hogwarts Express 11'oclock , I looked behind me to see my mother and Ginny coming straight after Ron and I. Smoke from the engine drifted over the heads of the chattering crowd, while cats of every colour wound here and there between their legs. Owls hooted to each other in a sort of disgruntled sort of way over the babble and scraping of the heavy trunks.
I looked into the train to see the first few carriages had already been packed with many students, some peaking their heads out of the window to have a chat with their families , some having heated arguments over seating. I look over to see the boy from earlier down in the passage way of the train, another boy saying:
"Gran, I've lost my toad again" a chubby boy says, I chuckle a bit at the boys expression before dragging my luggage's in, the other boy from earlier was getting help from my brothers Fred and George.
"Oh Neville-" an old woman sighed, though I could barely hear her , it was quite obvious what she was implying towards the chubby boy who's name I'd assume is Neville now. A crowd huddled in around the boy, some even shoving past each other.
The boy shoved past the big crowd, heading towards the farthest compartment down the passageway. I walk out to see my mother , Ronald and Ginny standing. The twins poking their heads out of the train to overhear what my mother was saying to Ronald.
"Fred? George? Are you there?" My mother screeched hurriedly trying to find the both.
"Coming, mum" they both said, Fred following after George off the train to say their last goodbyes to their mother before heading off.
"Ron, you've got something on your nose" Ron tried jerking out of my mothers reach, but I quite knew he wouldn't be successful with that. My mother pulled out her floral handkerchief , rubbing it against the end of Rons nose hoping that whatever was on his nose would come straight off. Ron looked fed up, he yanked away, my mothers arm gripping onto his forearm.
"Mum- geroff" Ron said in an annoyed voice, finally getting away from our mother. The twins break out into laughter, looking over at Ron.
"Has little Ronnie got somefink on his nosie?" said one of the twins. Ron looked over rolling his eyes at the both, before saying:
"Shut up" he turned back away, trying to investigate what was actually on his nose but he saw nothing as he rubbed his fingers near the now aching spot our mother had rubbed.
My mother looked around curiously like she was searching for something.
"Where's Percy" she said directing her eyes to mine, I look at her before saying:
"He's coming mother"
Percy came striding into our sight, the other boy still standing there watching. Percy had already changed into his billowing black Hogwarts robes, I wasn't surprised, Percy was too organised. I looked over to see the boy staring at Percy's shiny red and gold badge on his chest with the letter P on it.
"Can't stay long, mother" Percy said looking at our mother "I'm upfront, the prefects have got two compartments to themselves"
"Oh, are you a prefect, Percy" one of the twins said, with an air of great surprise "you should have said something we had no idea."
"Hang on, I think I remember him saying something about it" said the other twin "Once-"
"Or twice--"
"A minute--"
"All summer--"
