'W-why... why... why would you do this?!'
'Because I love you. I do. But you don't, and it's all his fault!'
'Please... please... stop this...'
'I can't. No one can. It's the only way to make sure, you are mine, and only mine to keep.'
It was pouring and, three kids stood at the edge of a cliff, facing the sea. Their parents were rushing to the scene, a ranger guiding them. The boy holding the knife was closing in on the other boy, a girl standing at the side.
'I don't want to hurt you, Dylan...'
'Then, stop this...'
He gritted his teeth and ran towards the child who was about to fall. Dylan screamed and grabbed him by his arm, only to swap their position. She slipped and fell off the cliff.
'DYLAN!!' shouted the injured boy.
'NO! DYLAN!!' yelled the other boy, dropping his knife into the sea.
Dylan screamed as she plunged into the roaring waters. The storm was getting bigger and, the sea was getting rougher.
The two boys looked over the edge of the cliff, petrified. Both of them were pulled from behind by strong arms.
'Where's Dylan?!' asked one of the parents, frantically. 'Where is she?!'
She followed the direction of the boys' gaze and rushed to the edge, ready to jump. Her husband pulled her back while she thrashed and kicked, struggling from his grasp.
'My daughter!!!' she screeched. 'I need to save her!'
Suddenly, a man emerged from the rough waters, Dylan in his arms. Her mother cried of joy and relief. She and her husband quickly went down the mountain and rushed to their daughter's saviour.
They were gasping, out of breath, but the sight of their daughter in the man's arm brought their energy back. They ran to him and took Dylan into their arms.
'Oh, Dylan... Dylan...' her mother panted.
Her father checked her pulse and his face went pale.
'She's not breathing! Someone help!!'
The man that had saved Dylan instantly performed CPR on her. The rest of the group was arriving, the two boys still in tears. After a few seconds, the little girl regained her conscious and coughed out the water she swallowed.
Her mother was shuddering in relief as she hugged Dylan tight.
'Oh, my baby. You're ok...' Then, she looked at the man. 'Thank you. Thank you!'
'Umm... w-who are you...?' she asked, looking around, confused. 'Where... am I?'
Her parents went stilled. So did the two boys.
'Who am I?'
