Song to this chapter: The Beatles- Helter Skelter
It was a beautiful day. I changed Leah and went for a walk in the garden with her. In it I heard the cracking of branches in a nearby forest, but I did not see anyone. I ignored it and continued to caress Leah. In a few minutes, my cell phone rang.
"Damn." I sighed and picked up my cell phone. Hayley called me. I went to the house and left Leah clutching in front of the garden, because what could happen like that? When I came out there were no sight of Leah.
I know I left her in this place. I panicked and ran around the garden. I also looked ahead. Leaha was gone. I quickly dialed Rosalie, then called Klaus, and probably called anyone who could take her away. Nobody knew about anything. There was only one option. Call my Uncle Jake. I came from the family of Lucifer, witches and vampires, Jake was human. He did not inherit any supernatural abilities. He was perhaps the only person in our family. We weren't close but it didn't matter now. He was a detective and he always solved every single case. From theft to murder. I looked at the phone book and tapped Jake. The cell phone did not ring for a long time, and immediately a familiar voice rang out.
"Jennifer?"
"Yes, hello ..." I sounded sad and worried.
“Is something wrong?” Jake asked, and I heard concern in his voice.
"Someone kidnapped my daughter. I think someone kidnapped her." I quickly let go.
"Tell me more details, Jennifer."
"I was out with Leah and then I ran downstairs and was gone."
"Do you know anyone who would want to hurt you and your family?"
"What? No! What are these questions?" I sputtered angrily.
"I'm just following the instructions. I'll be right there."
“Please hurry,” I hung up.
I waited impatiently for maybe 10 minutes, and he was still nowhere.
Then I noticed a black car behind the house. It must be him, but where is he? I called him and he didn't pick it up. Frightened, I entered the house and saw him coming out of the cellar.
"What the hell are you doing ?!" I shouted.
"What the hell is in that basement?" Jake asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Blood and guts everywhere. What's going on there?"
"Why were you there?"
"I have one case I'm trying to solve. They're missing people, and I probably found them. I just went there by accident. I didn't expect to see anything like that."
"Cough it up. Find my daughter," I raised my voice again.
"Okay, show me the place."
"How could you just go to my house? You don't even have a permit! This is the place."
"I'll take some prints and examine it here. You bring me a picture of your daughter."
"Leah. Her name is Leah."
"Leah's picture, please."
"I'll be right back. "
When I came back I saw that he was putting something in the bag. Some cotton and then he took the shoe prints.
“Here's the photo,” I handed it to him.
"I found something. I'll see what they find in the lab."
"And by the way, in that cellar."
"Please don't handle it."
"But I have to. It's a crime, you know that?"
"I'm sure it can be solved differently," I began stroking his chest.
"Jennifer, I-I ..."
"Come for coffee." I grabbed his hand and led him into the house.
I set the water for coffee and leaned against the line. Jake sat down on a chair.
"I'm sure we'll work it out differently and not tell anyone about it."
“How do you want to handle this?” Jake asked.
The kettle beeped and turned off. I sat on Jake's knees astride and started kissing him. He denied for a while, but then he relaxed and also started kissing me. But after a while he pulled away.
"Jennifer, no. Not really." he blushed. He stood up and left.
"I won't tell anyone, it'll be our secret, okay? I'm sorry."
"What about the coffee."
"When I find Leah, we'll go for coffee. How about my house, hmm?"
"Okay, very happy."
"I'll call you." and with these words he left.
The next day, he called me to find the man who had kidnapped her. His name was Benedict Jäger. Impossible, after all, Gumo and George caught him. I had to make sure.
"George, hello. Can I talk to Jäger?"
"Um, he's not really here ..."
"One hundred percent. He kidnapped my daughter! How could this happen?"
"Jennifer, please calm down. Some men came and untied him. We couldn't stop it. Argent is already tracking him. Don't worry, we'll definitely find her."Gumo and his investigation
“Do you have anything yet?” I asked Spike.
"Yes, it will. So Lucy Montgomery. Daughter of Enrica. She lives in Valencia. I'll find out the address shortly."
"Good job. Your hacking skills have worked. You're finally a useful person," I patted him on the shoulder.
"Thank you? I mean ..." Spike said uncertainly.
"People, people someone kidnapped little Leah. It was probably Jäger," George said breathlessly.
“Why did he kidnap her?” I asked.
"Good question. I don't know."
"We'll see what Argent finds out, and if we find him, we'll find Leah," I said, and left.
I packed my things for a few days. Spike came to me with the address and we went to Valencia to see Lucy.
When we arrived at the place, I knocked on the door.
“Will I help you?” A young, low girl with black raven-like hair and a cold look like her father, Centaur Jacob, appeared in the doorway.
"Yes. I was a close friend of your mother. I need to know where she is buried," I tried to sound friendly.
“I won't tell you about it!” And she wanted to close the door, but I held it with my feet.
"Wait, please, it's important."
"Why are you asking about my mother? She's been dead for a century," she said, not taking a cold look from me.
I told her the story of Jäger and how I met her mother.
She was silent for a moment, then spoke. "Someone with my mother's bloodline can break that curse. It doesn't have to be her."
"I get it right, do you want to help me?"
"I didn't say that, you should go now."
"Please, I need your help."
"All right, wait for me outside."Jennifer and the Quest
Jake called me 3 days later. He found the place where Leah is located. It was near a gravel pit in a small remote village. He found the remains of gravel on his footprint.
Only me and Klaus wanted to go there, but Jake objected that he had to come with us and arrest him for kidnapping. So I agreed.
"You'll be sitting in the car." I ordered Jake.
"No way. I'm going there with you."
"No, you'll stay here. I'll bring him," he wanted to object again, but I took his keys and locked him there.
We slammed the door. My daughter was there. She was lying there in the cradle.
"Hold on!" shouted Klaus, pulling me close. An arrow flew past my face.
"She's trapped, watch out." Klaus pointed out.
"Let's see who we have here? The famous Jennifer Montgomery," Jäger said from the doorway.
I was about to pounce on him. I carded and cursed, but Klaus held me tight.
“Give us back our daughter!” Klaus growled.
"It's yours, take it. I just wanted to lure you here. Klaus quickly took Leah and I nodded to take her away.
I threw myself at him and we wrestled. He cut a knife to my side a little, but it healed. I threw him on the furniture and ran to him when someone slammed the door. She was a girl and spoke spells. Jäger began to scream and rise from the pain. Then she stopped and said "now." Gumo stabbed him in the head and placed his body on the ground.
“Is that Enrica?” I whispered to George
"No, I'm Lucy. You're Jennifer, aren't you? There's a lot of talk about you in the family." she said.
"Really? I didn't know that," we all laughed.
We waited for another 2 hours but Jäger did not wake up. Jake took the body to the morgue and then they took care of it. It all ended well.
“Is the coffee still valid for me?” Jake said with a smile.
“Yes, one would work now.” I returned the smile.
