Dear Mum [ letters from scorpius to his mother ]

first day of hogwarts

Morning Mum,

Today is my very first day of hogwarts— I'm a bit on the edge in all honesty. Dad told me not to worry, but I know he's lying. He's doing that a lot recently, pretending everything is okay when it really isn't. He knows it won't be for a while. He misses you so much, his hands were actually shaking as he lead me through the brick wall to the platform. Maybe he didn't know, but I knew you were there, holding onto my luggage with me, making sure I don't trip and embarrass myself even more.

I'm hoping I get placed into Slythrrin like you and father. Maybe making it, will make him proud of me in some way. It's been hard to impress him lately. I know he's stressed, but it doesn't really help me. I'm trying to keep positive, but I do not think I'm succeeding. I'm almost too worried about being positive. I don't really know.

Can you send father a sign or something? Maybe he won't know what it is at first, but I'm sure at some point he will realize we didn't really miss you.

I'm writing on the train so I do hope you do not mind my messy hand writing.

I've actually got to go, someone is entering the compartment, I will write to you later tonight.
