Whistles of the wind that were never heard
Along the Southern Vale of happiness absurd
Out in the shadows of light amassed
I find you, the one whom my heart has passed
Caught your eyes while trying to walk by
Smiled your little signature smiles that caught my eye
Across the falling tragedy of heartbreak and misery
Lies emitted by the newfound love of illusions and fantasy
Such happened as I smiled back at you
Who knows where this will add up to?
Riding with the flow of life, treacherous rivers I scale
A new, budding love watched by the trees in Southern Vale

Under a new blood of prayer and wishes
We stayed together against all absolute cinches
What could I give except that unwavering faith
In love, in time, in all aspects swayed
The seasons change, the sun is setting again
What more could I offer except that love mistaken?
We lie, we deceive, we fall into our own trap
Under an old spell of failed love, we suddenly drop
What more could I leave except that fateful stop
That helpless plea to leave things until the last crop
The lost affection is caught by the roaring hail
And watching all these are the trees in Southern Vale

The trees, though how wise they are
Turned their backs and left us to fend for our scar
No matter how they watched us meet and be merry
They stood still despite the knowledge they carry
The trees, though how old they be
They know exactly when love is nothing but misery
Yet, they stood still, faced the other sky
Left us to worry about not knowing the reasons why
Until then, we knew nothing about being helpless
Up to now, all we know was nothing, nonetheless
And the orchard, the path where we met
Oh, just how the trees in Southern Value could forget?

It is a wish that caught our souls
One tiny, flickering light against the darkest of brawls
We should have taken it when we had the chance
Instead, we trusted the trees until our moment expires
What a fancy delirium our love could be
Under the glare of leaves, our hope snapped free
Broken, irreplaceable, precious little gems are we
Buried beneath mountains of glass we'll never see
The trees, though how sympathetic they've become
Blessed our parting, blessed our love already gone
It is painful, indeed, watching our love turn stale
Witness through it all are the trees in Southern Vale

It is a wish that caught our soulsOne tiny, flickering light against the darkest of brawlsWe should have taken it when we had the chanceInstead, we trusted the trees until our moment expiresWhat a fancy delirium our love could beUnder the glare of...

Parting is such sweet sorrow if you both know the reason why— unlike our narrator here. They seem to be blaming that mystical force such as the Trees for their falling out with their lover and even now, I don't know what those trees represent. Maybe it could have been something ancient and has authority like parents or something. I don't know.

And that Southern Vale name. I don't know where I got it. Lol.

This was written on November 27, 2017, almost three years from the time I published this thing into Wattpad. How fast time flies, no?
