AS DINNER rounded the corner, Corvus' anxiety was shooting up higher and higher, the tall corridors couldn't even contain it. Being lost in thought served Corvus wrongly in class, the distraction of thinking caused the older girl to completely miss the potions lesson and of course having her best friend next to her, sparked curiosity within the eldest Black sister.
A nudge on her left side brought the former out of her daze, blinking a couple times before turning her attention towards Bellatrix and holding eye contact with a questioning gaze.
"Do you know what we're doing?" Bellatrix asked sharply, intending to embarrass her friend and put some sense in paying attention. Corvus shook her head, and in all honesty, she could care less for this class, hell, even the school. But she knew her mother would be on her, even though Corvus knew that she would be married off and magic would have no use to her, even if she wish it could.
"Then pay attention." The emerald eyed girl turned away, looking down at her parchment, effectively ignoring the ebony haired girl sat next to her, staring sharp daggers into her head.
The jitters that weren't apparent, seemed to multiply with such intensity as the rounding of the clock had every student excited for dinner. The two girls rose from their seats, taking their books with them and headed to the Slytherin common room, once the class had ended.
Attempting to ignore the feeling she had in her gut, Corvus threw an arm over the shorter girl and pulled her closer into her side. Bellatrix took a quick glance up but shrugged it off mentally, not minding the small public affection that was given by the older girl.
Navigating through the hallways, the duo turned a corner and had bumped into a few Gryffindors, unfortunately for the two Slytherins, Eamon Finnigan and William Thomas.
Hardening their gazes into glares, both girls looked at the two boys that, now stood a few meters back. Corvus removed her arm from Bellatrix's shoulder and carefully moved the girl behind her once noticing the looks both males were giving towards the younger girl. Of course Bellatrix could fend for her own, with a little insanity added with it, but the older girl didn't want to risk anything happening to her friend.
"Eyes up mutts." Corvus' voice was harsh and normalized with the same monotone voice she was used to. "Eyes up mutts! What are you gonna do about it Lestrange?" William mocked the Slytherin before asking a very indicative question. Corvus' hands turned into fists subtly, attempting to not lose her cool as the two boys kept looking her up and down. Corvus may have been tall, but she was only tall for a girl her age, reaching nearly one hundred sixty seven centimeters.
"I'll make sure you won't have your manhood if you keep looking at us like that, pigs." The, very true, threat hovered over the two Gryffindors, but it went on dead ears as they laughed and shrugged the, what they think is an empty, threat.
"Impedimenta." Swift words fell from the Lestrange's tongue as her wand was raised at the opposing two, their eyes widened in slow motion, quite comically, as they understood the consequences of their actions. Corvus walked up to them and kicked them both between their legs, right where the sun doesn't shine.
And to make matters worse, Corvus left the two boys there and grabbed Bellatrix's hand and dragged her down the stairs and into the dungeon until they've reached their common room.
