Sports Festival Part 1 - Tricky Situation

Chapter 11

While Midoriya sat in the prep room with his Pokemon several events were going on out in the field that allowed the students who weren't selected to show off their Pokemon, from showing off their Pokemon's beauty to showing how cleverly they could use their moves

Midoriya had his three Pokemon out of their Pokeballs as he came up with a plan "I wasn't able to find out anything about my opponent" He said as his Pokemon sat with him "Buneary, I'll be counting on you" The small bunny Pokemon nodded and hopped into his lap

*knock knock*

There was a knock at the door, as Midoriya opened it to his surprise Tokoyami was behind it "Hey Tokoyami, how can I help you"

The black haired boy stepped into the room "Your opponent, I faced them during the entrance exam, I won but it was tricky, he used a bunch of moves that messed with my Pokemon's head" Tokoyami put a hand on Midoriya's shoulder "Be careful" he then left

Midoriya scratched his head "That doesn't tell me much of anything" he sighed

"WILL THE TWO CONTESTANTS PLEASE COME TO THE BATTLEFIELD" Present Mic said over the intercom

"Let's do this" He returned his Pokemon to their Pokeballs and headed out the door

"HERE THEY COME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THE FIRST TWO TRAINERS TO BATTLE IT OUT TODAY" Present Mic once again cheered over the intercom "ON THE LEFT IS THE MASTER OF FIGHTING TYPES, WITH A HIDDEN POWER THAT WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF, ITS IZUKU MIDORIYA OF CLASS 1-A"

Midoriya waved to the audience as they cheered "Wow,that's a lot of people"

"AND ON THE RIGHT IT'S THE MYSTERIOUS HITOSHI SHINSOU" Present Mic introduced Midoriya's opponent

"Talk about playing favourites" Shinsou said as he walked up to the battlefield

Midnight stood off to the side of the field "Alright you two this will be a 1-on-1 battle the first side who is unable to continue fighting will be declared the loser, ready?" she raised a flag "Let the Battle begin"

Midoriya threw his Pokeball "BUNEARY" out came the bunny Pokemon

"Bun Bun"

Shinsou tossed his own Pokeball "Espurr" a small grey catlike Pokemon appeared out of the Pokeball

Aizawa leaned in a bit more

"Buneary, Quick Attack" Midoriya commanded

"Trick Room" Shinsou said at the same time

As Buneary dashed at Espurr a strange transparent cube appeared around the battlefield causing Buneary to stop and look around in surprise

"W-What?" Midoriya also was confused

"Well, come on, hit us" Shinsou taunted

"Buneary, Quick Attack" Midoriya shouted and Buneary dashed forward however it's movement was much slower than usual "What?"

"As I'm sure you know Trick Room makes fast Pokemon slow and slow Pokemon fast, it completely reverses how things normally work" Shinsou chuckled to himself "Espurr use confusion" The grey feline let out a small burst of pink energy directed at Buneary, due to the effects of Trick Room Buneary was unable to dodge and took the hit head on

Midoriya flinched "Buneary! You okay?" Buneary stood back up after the hit and nodded back toward her trainer

Shinsou grinned "Confusion again" Espurr, blasted Buneary with a blast of psychic energy again and again, while the bunny Pokemon was unable to dodge, once the onslaught of attacks was over Buneary was wobbling back and forth
