Zelda was watching the battle against the bokoblins out of her window. Most of the soldiers were wearing a helmet, but she noticed one soldier who was only in the armor, without the helmet. The soldier was incredibly strong. He was able to defeat tens of hundreds of bokoblins in mere seconds, which she watched from a distance with extreme interest. As the last bokoblins were retreating, she heard her father speak about the powerful soldier, that an official assignment was in order.
He was sent with the top soldiers to accompany Zelda to Purah's lab, along with her associate Impa. One of the Guardians went rogue and attacked the princess, only for the unnamed soldier to jump in front of her, parrying the destructive beam back into it, destroying it. She was called to return to the castle by the King. She heard the King speaking to the soldier who saved her, outside her door. She put her ear to the door in time to hear, "Due to your outstanding bravery, I will be appointing you as the princess's personal knight. It is quite an honor. Defend her with your life, Link."
