"You look beautiful, Hwa Young!" Mi Rae, her friend admired.

"Thank You!" She smiled in reply.

She was left alone, as her friend left, to take her place as the maid of honour, in the altar.

Behind those walls, Hwa Young wept bitter tears, on the day of her wedding.

She was never happy in her past twenty four years.

And she knew, she will never be, on the rest.

Yet, amidst all her pain, she saw hope in his eyes.

Maybe he could help her, that's all she foolishly thought, or perhaps wanted. All crashing down, on the day they talked. Over a bland coffee, that felt like water, to her tasteless buds.

She cleaned her face, as she heard footsteps near the room.

"Shall we go?" Mr. Kang asked.

"Yes appa!" She replied, smiling.

No words of praise. No words of encouragement.

It was just a duty for him to finish.

Hwa Young looked at her father holding her arm.

Appa, I always wanted you to hold me in your arms, and whisper words of encouragement. Guess O was wishing for too much. Thank you for being a part of my life. I love you!

Her mind echoed, as her orbs glinted.

She desperately wished, walking down the aisle, that, no woman should ever cry on the day of her wedding.

Duty! She has a duty assigned to her from now on.

As a wife.
