"Holy shit." I said, murmuring to myself.
"Why did you come back here Jeff?" I asked cautiously.
"Business, mostly unfinished business that I shouldn't be discussing about in front of you."
"Are you going to kill me?"
"Well, I could but that would spoil the fun. Wouldn't it?"
I couldn't take it anymore, my worry morphed into anger.
"Jeff if you try to hurt me, a-and if you're a serial killer, I WILL KILL YOU." I said bitterly, emphasizing the last part.
He smiled at me then turned around touching the wall next to him.
"Ya know, I've never really liked this wallpaper." He said ignoring my threat.
Oh my gosh, I thought to myself he's insane. I have to leave now.
"Come on Lia, get down from there. Or i'll have to get you."
"Okay- Not." I said to myself quietly, I started to like staying in the closet... safe and alive.
My legs were folded uncomfortably to my chest, and my arms fell asleep. A numb tingly feeling enveloped them which caused me to squirm. I was finally able to pull off the task of getting out of my fetal position, then stumbled onto the cool marble bathroom floor.
"Need a little help?" Jeff asked rashly while holding the door wide open.
I shook my head, heck no I wasn't falling for that.
I got up woozy and lightheaded from the fall and the previous injurys caused by him.
My knees went weak again, Jeff caught me before I could fall.
"T-thanks." I told him awkwardly, trying to back away from him.
He just chuckled and shook his head.
...
"Okay, need your help Lia." Jeff told me while shuffling my playing cards which were placed on my bookshelf.
"Mhmm?" I hummed skeptically.
"I haven't really gotten rid of one of the kids who uh- nevermind. I know that he still lives here somewhere, but I just can't find him. I need you help so that you could help me track him down."
My eyes were as widened. He actually wanted me to hunt down a guy that bullied him. So then what, he could kill him?
"No. I won't do it."
"It's not your choice, I'm just informing you Lia." He said casually while shuffling the cards repetitively.
My mouth opened slightly, "So, I have to do this?"
He chuckled deviously, "You do. I'm just trying to break the ice between us."
I panicked. Then rushed towards the closest thing that I could use to knock him out. Not the wisest choice but that was my only one. I grabbed my purple lamp and bashed him in the head. I felt bad but I couldn't let him get to me. He fell, limp on the ground groaning. I rushed to my bathroom and opened the window. I tried carefully climbing out, first by using my lower body. My legs dangled outside of the window, I looked down and saw plain concrete.
This won't be a safe fall. I decided to look for some kind of ledge and use that to climb onto the roof. Unfortunately, nothing like that was close to me so I had to use my poor instincts. I gripped onto the roof above me and pulled myself gingerly upwards. If only I had enough upper body strength. I could hear shuffling in the house, Jeff was waking up. I used my arms to bring me up, and when I got halfway there I could feel a tugging on my leg. A shrill scream left my lips, he was pulling me back in.
"I was just getting started Lia." He said while smirking wildly, accentuating his already malicious smile.
His forehead was covered in a thin coat of blood, and his inky hair was matted across his pale face. That lamp did him some good.
I was on the floor, out of breath and scared. He hovered over me, his blood dripping on my neck. I tightly closed my eyes at the sight of him. what was he going to do with me?
He grabbed me by my shoulders and pulled me toward him. I was mentally and physically exhausted, my tired body tried thrashing around to get away from him which didn't help.
Jeff picked me up and threw me on his broad shoulders. He then walked towards the window I was trying to escape from. He tightened his grip on me and took a deep breath. All of a sudden I could feel a whoosh of air leaving us when he leaped out the window and skillfully landed on the split concrete with a forceful impact.
The last thing I remembered was him whispering to me, "we'll make it."
