Chapter 54: Alice Vivian and Alvin Vrent

Charles Lewis' POV

*riiiiing*
I pressed the answer button and waited for the caller to talk.

['Sir! Nahanap na po namin siya!']

I was elated. Hindi ko na mapigilang hindi mapatayo mula sa pagkakaupo.

"Really? How are they? Are they fine?What about the mother?" Sunod-sunod na tanong ko. I can't help the excitement of my voice.

He paused for a little bit as if he's about to say something bad.

['Namatay po siya kaya lumitaw yung pangalan niya at kaya mas nadalian kami sa paghahanap sa kanya.']

I was caught off guard on what he said. I didn't expect that she'll die without us meeting again.

Umaasa ako na magkikita pa ulit kami pero mukhang malabo nang mangyari iyon. Napabuga na lang ako ng hangin.

"Okay. Tell me the details."

And so he did tell me.

I bitter smile formed across my face.
So she still did what we had agreed on 16 years ago? At nalaman ko rin na hindi siya nag-asawa pa even if she's one of the prettiest girl i've met during our time. She must really love my brother that much that she didn't look for another love anymore. Too bad, fate was cruel for them that he didn't let them meet even for the last time. But who knows, magkasama na pala sila sa kabilang mundo.Because despite all the years that have passed, my brother's still inlove with the same girl. His first love.

I was a witnessed of their love. I saw how much they cared and loved each other not until one day, our parents interuppted their happy love story.

Our parents wants them to separate but my brother didn't allow that to happen. So he asked her to runaway with him.But she didn't show up in the place where they should meet, instead, she went somewhere far away leaving my brother alone and broken.My brother was devastated that time so he just agreed to marry some random girl our parents want him to marry.

I witnessed how he treated his wife. He's very cold towards her neither showed any sign of care for her like she's not his own wife.

Maybe his wife had enough of him that's why she filed an annulment case on their marriage.
But my brother just willingfully signed the papers and let her go.

And then he worked very hard until he became successful on his own, without the help of our parents. He also tried to find his first love but she's nowhere to be found. So he probably lose hope and let her be.

Until 14 years later after she left,my brother had known from a friend that she was carrying their child on her womb when she disappeared.

I saw a glimpse of happiness in my brother's eyes for the first time since she was gone. Parang bumalik ulit ang sigla at pag-asa sa buhay niya.

He gave up his business,work,company and everything,giving it all to me just like giving some piece of candy. I can still remember the exact words he said that day,"I don't need those money Charles. I can have them later on . What I need is her. Our child. My family."

So he started searching for them again. And I've seen how determined he was to find them. He never stopped and searched every place but unfortunately, he didn't find his family.

Then he caught some serious disease while looking for them. Sakit na tuluyang nangpahina at unti-unting pumapatay sa katawan niya na kahit ang pinakamagaling na doctor ay di siya kayang bigyan ng lunas.Gayunman, kahit sa huling araw niya sa mundo, ang kanyang pamilya pa rin ang iniisip niya.

On his last day, he asked me a favor.
He asked me to continue the search for his family.

Of course i willingfuly accepted it . He's my only brother and we're also close that's why i accepted his last request.

"Worry no more Robert. I'll find him and take care of him like he's my own son ." I promised while looking at his portrait on the wall.


Alice's POV

*riingg* rinnng* rinngg*
I took a glance at my phone on top of the center table. It's ringing. Maybe it's some jerk who can't get over me. Tss.
 I'm too lazy to get up from the couch to get the phone.
"Alvin!"
"Yeah?" he asked without removing his gaze from the tv. He's sitting on a different couch across the couch where i'm lying.

I rolled my eyes,impatiently.
"Give me my phone please."
He look at me in astonishment. What now?
"You lazy bitch."
"You freaking asshole. Give it to me now."

He raises one eyebrow like he's waiting for me to say more.
"Okay. I'll give you 500 ."
He raised his other eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Fine!1000!"

He gave me a victorious smile,got up from the couch then tossed the phone towards me.

Tss. We're always like that. If you have a favor to ask,you should agree to pay first. Though i don't care anyway. We have lots of money that we're just using it as a part of our playtime.

I look at the screen of my phone. I thought so. It's Rafe. My latest playmate or should i say ex playmate. I got bored with him last night. He's a lousy kisser.

"Alice. Alvin."
I throw my phone somewhere i don't know--and don't care about -- then immediately stood up and run towards dad.
"Hi daddy! *tsup*" and kissed him on the cheeks.
"Tsk. Ingay." I glared at Alvin whose eyes are on the tv again. Palibhasa hindi siya binilhan ni Dad ng bagong sasakyan na pinapabili niya kasi kapapabili niya lang last year ng bago and now he wants a new one again. Ungrateful asshole.

"I have a great news."Dad smiled widely.Hmm.He seems so happy.

"Ano yun dad?" -bored na sabi Alvin

My twin is really a jerk. Kinakausap niya si dad pero sa tv nakatingin. Tss. Yeah. You read it right.That stupid asshole is my twin brother =_=
We went back here in the Philippines because my beloved uncle died last year. And now, here we are... Staying here in the Philippines .. For good! Ugh! It's not that i hate Philippines! It's just that i love staying in abroad rather than here. But what else can i do?! Kailangan namin samahan si dad dito kasi wala na si uncle na kasama niya.

"I have a task for both of you."
Nabalik ang tingin ko kay dad. What is it now this time? Last time he gave us a task... Ugh! I don't wanna even remeber it =_=

"You look for your cousin . I'll grant your wish as an exchange."

Ugh! I knew it!!!

"That's not fair dad! Tito can't even find her and even your expert investigators!" i blurted.

Wow ha ! He's asking us to look for our long-long-long-time-missing-cousin! E yung mga investigators nga niya hindi mahanap yun e!

"I did found h--"
"So ibig sabihin hindi na namin siya kailangan hanapin? Can you grant our wish then?" - Alvin suddenly spoke beside me with that wide annoying smile. Huh?! When did he came here ?

I rolled my eyes AGAIN. Isa pa tong Alvin na to. Narinig lang na tutuparin ni dad ang hiling namin, mas mabilis pa sa kidlat kung makapunta sa harap ni dad.

"Of course not son. You have to find your cousin first."
Alvin is about to speak but dad cut him off."I'll give you a clue where to find your cousin. I'm making you do this so that you can have the things you want by working hard for it... So that atleast you'll experience how hard it is to gain something in your own way."

I can't help but to roll my eyes over and over again. So ibig niyang sabihin, paghirapan namin yung gusto namin? Tss! Well i can't blame him if he wants us to work hard. Kasi lahat ng gusto namin, nakukuha namin agad. Oh yeah. My dad is one of the riches businessman here in this country even outside.

I look at Alvin and he's just idling. Tsk. Useless =_=

"So dad. After we found her,you'll grant us our wishes?" i asked while grinning from ear to ear. Well, ayos lang kahit kailangan muna naming paghirapan ang gusto namin. Atleast in the end, i'll get what i want at isa pa, nawawalan ako ng gana pag binili ni dad yung mga gusto ko kasi isang sabi lang, voila, i have it already. This time i want to experience something new. For the first time, i'm getting excited!


"Wish."
Ugh. I thought wish with an -es. Fine. Then wish it is. =_=
"Hmp. E di isa lang!"
"Game! " hay salamat. Sumagot rin ang twin ko. Akala ko matutulala na lang siya forever. Maybe he thought that if we found our cousin, he'll finally have that car that he's dreaming of.

"So here's your clue. Your cousin is in Sitio Matiwasay."

I frowned. "That's it? Wala man lang pangalan?! And Sitio Matiwasay? Is there such place?"

"I said you need to work hard. And yes there is a place called Sitio Matiwasay and it's not that big. It's just a small town so there's no reason for you not to find your cousin. "

"Hmmm. Interesting ^___^ "-Alvin.There's his playboy smile again.

"Please dad. Another clue :3"
I can't help but to give dad my cutest look. Pout. Check. Puppy eyes. Check. I know he can't resist me this time.

"Hay. Wala na talaga kayong pag-asa."

"Maganda ba siya dad?" biglang singit ni Alvin. Ugh! Panira! And what?! Tinatanong niya kung maganda? For Pete's sake! She's our cousin even though she's pretty!! But of course, i know i'm prettier.

"Yuck! You're disgusting! Don't tell me you'll still hit on her?! She's our cousin for whoever's sake!" I look at him with full of disgust.

Naaawa naman ako sa pinsan kong yun. Whoever she is, i'll protect her from this playboy jerk =_=
And then we'll go shopping, tapos maghuhunt ng boys, tapos paglalaruan namin sila,iiwan at paiiyakin. Ohhh~~ I'm so excited to have my cousin here with me :) I swear,i'll treat her as my sister.

"She's a HE."
Napatingin ako kay dad at para bang nawasak ang mga pangarap ko. Diniinan pa nito ang word na "HE".

"Talaga?! Hahah! Yesssss!!!" Alvin jumped in glee.
"No dad! Tell me babae siya!! " kumapit pa ko sa kamay niya para magmakaawa. I shake him but he didn't take back what he just said.

No! Hindi pwede! Ayoko na ng isang lalaki pa na kapamilya! Buong buhay ko, puro lalaki ang nakalakihan ko ! Nooooo!!!! It can't be!!!

"Haha. I'm sorry but your cousin is a boy."

I let go of dad's hand and slumped on the couch.My little hope is gone. Wala akong cousin sa mother side because she's one and  only so i prayed that my one and only missing cousin is a girl. Turns out mali pala ako =_= I should've asked dad first before i assumed that my cousin's a girl. Now i'm disappointed. Really disappointed.

"Beh:P"
I glared at Alvin."Jerk."
"Whatever. Soon, i'll have my bro with me. And we'll both annoy you,playgirl sis.Hahah."

I was about to strangle him when dad spoke.
"That's enough. You're turning 17 soon yet you act like a child tsk. So here's your clue. Compare both your names and you'll see some similarities there except surname. After you've seen the similarities, you can start searching for him. I'll give you 3 days. If you didn't find him after 3 days,.. no wish will be granted." then he went up stairs withouth hearing what i was about to say. Alam niya kasing magrereklamo ako! Ugh!

I hate this! I know he'll watch our moves! Alam niya kasing baka maghire kami ng investigators para sila na lang ang maghanap. Eessh!

"Com'on playgirl sister. Excited na ko na mameet ang cousin natin." nakangising sabi ni Alvin.

Oh! I know what is he thinking! He'll taught him how to be a playboy too! Tsk. I really pity that cousin of mine.
"Whatever playboy brother. "

Pinagcompare na namin yung mga pangalan namin . We wrote it on a piece of paper. Ugh. I can't help but to cringe while writing our names on the paper. It's just so...corny. I mean can't dad just tell us his name? Di itong icocompare pa namin ang pangalan namin. So corny. Pinapahirapan niya talaga kami. Ugh!

"Ah! Alam ko na!"
Napatingin ako agad kay Alvin. "What is it?" i excitedly answered. Oh. May silbi din pala tong kambal ko.

"Parehong maganda ang pangalan natin!"

I'm taking back what i said awhile ago =_=

"Dad said something similar! Stupid!"

"Hmm. Oo nga nuh.hehe" He said while scratching his brainless head.

Then we started searching for similarities again.

"Alam ko na!"
"What?" i asked excitedly again. I hope this time he got it right.
"Parehong may Lewis yung pangalan natin! Hoho! Ang talino ko talaga!"

Napaface palm na lang ako.
UGH! He's so useless!!! Can you just take him away from me please? Mapapatay ko tong lalaking to!

"Syempre pareho kasi twin tayo! Are you really that stupid?! And sinabi na kanina ni dad na iba ang surname niya!"

Urgh! My blood is boiling up again.

Maybe he had enough of me that's why he raised his eyebrow and look at me straight to my eyes.

"Kung ganun ano... smarty,playgirl sis? " nang-aasar na sabi niya.
Is he challenging me?  Huh! I'll show him how a playgirl's mind works. *smirk*
I look at our names again that was written on the paper.

I knew it!
"Alam ko na!"
"Ano? "
"We have the same first name intials! So meaning his first name initials begins with A.V. too! " i exclaimed.

Yes! I'm a genius!
He stared at the paper for a second then look at me with his eyes wide open.

"Wow! Ang galing!" Is he complimenting me? Huh. I already told him. He shouldn't challenge me.

"I know right :) " i flipped my hair.
"You're a genius playgirl sister!"
*clap*clap*clap*
"Thank you. " my smile grow wider.
"Maybe that's what you get after playing on boys."
That beautiful smile i'm wearing suddenly disappeared.

"And being dumbass is what you get after playing on girls." i retorted.

We both rolled our eyes then laugh at the same time.
I guess we're really twins :)
