"You act like you seen a ghost or something. You gone let me in or what?" I opened the door wider for him to step in. Before I closed the door I saw Slime looking in my direction. He shook his head and turned and went the other way. Rocko just had to come and mess shit up. I don't even know how he knew where I was.
Damn it! It was him! He had been the one following me. Why didn't he just come and talk to me instead of going through all this extra."LJ is at school and I'm just about to go get him!" I was walking in the kitchen to grab my purse.
"Shit you look like you was expecting somebody or something." He walked a little closer to me and damn was he fine. You can tell he had been working out by the way his muscles were showing through his T-shirt. His smile about sent me over the top. Every so often he would lick his lips but his gaze never left me.
I grabbed my purse and tried to walk past him to the door. "Rocko, come on now! I gotta get LJ. Don't act like we on good terms like that. The shit you did was fucked up and I've dealt with it. So can you excuse me so I can go get your son please?"
Rocko just stood there. He didn't say a word. He just looked at me and had a sexy smirk on his face. "I apologize mama! Ok? I ain't mean to do you like that! I was young an stupid! I was diggin you for real though.. you was just young. Forgive me?"
"I forgive you but I can't forget!" I said as he finally moved for me to get through.
"Where your bitch ass uncle at anyway?"
"Hell, I don't know. I don't even fool with them people like that any more. They treat me like the outcast. All of em. The whole family!" I said opening the door.
"I can dig it. Fuck em, they ain't worth your time anyway." He brushed up against me.
I opened the door and he was right behind me. As soon as I stepped out, Rocko grabbed my arm and pulled me close to him and kissed my lips passionately. He gave me slow pecks, maybe 5. It could have been more but I lost count because I was so mesmerized. He stopped and looked at me in my eyes, "I never stopped thinking about you and my boy. I appreciate the pictures y'all sent."
"You're welcome." I slowly backed away and closed my door.
I had no choice but to let Rocko ride with me to pick up LJ. I guess he was getting to surprises in one. Meeting his father and seeing our new place. I just wanted the best for my son. Here I am 18 years old, in my last year of high school, got my own place and trying to make something of myself. I wanted my child to have it all: I needed him to be something in life. And I was going to do all that I could to make that happen.
We arrived at the school and I was in the parent pick up line. LJ was standing in the line waiting for me to pull up so he can hop in.
"Hey my handsome boy. How was your day?"
"It was ok mama." He climbed in the backseat and put his seatbelt on.
Rocko turned around to look at him, "Hey lil man, what's up?"
"Hey" LJ was looking at him and he started smiling.
"My mama showed me pictures of you. Are you my daddy?""Oh she did huh? Well good.. yes I'm your daddy and I'm here to stay this time!" Rocko smiled at him.
"Can you give me a pound?" He balled his fist to pound LJ. He smiled and I know he felt good at the moment. The drive back to the apartment was silent but it wasn't any tension in the air. I couldn't wait to see the expression on LJ's face when he saw our new apartment.
"Who house this is mama?" LJ's face was gritted and it made me laugh.
"just wait and see. Come on... hurry up boy!" He was trying his hardest to unbuckle so he could get out. He didn't forget I had a surprise for him. So I knew he knew it was something for him inside.
Rocko got out of the car, he helped LJ with his backpack and shut his door. He was just looking at him like he was in love. I caught the moment they were having and was caught off guard when I heard Slime, "WHATS UP BLOOD?" He was looking towards our way but right at Rocko.
"WHATS UP CUZ YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS NIGGA!" Rocko was tagging up Hoover Crip at Slime at the same time moving LJ to the side.
I hurried up and got LJ and went inside the apartment. I looked out the window and saw another guy standing with Slime. He looked so familiar. I knew his face but couldn't put a name with it. They were all going back and forth set trippin. I prayed to God they wouldn't start shooting.
I guess they had a few words and let it slide this time. I saw Rocko coming back toward the apartment. He opened up the door and came straight to me with a mug on his face, "YOU BET NOT HAVE THAT SLOB ASS NIGGA AROUND MY SON, yeah I saw you!"
If it ain't one thing it's another!
