'And cut! That's a wrap for the first episode of I'm A Celeb 2020!''
Cheers erupting around them, Ant and Dec stood on the steps of the castle, wide grins plastered on their faces. Ant turned to his best friend. ''Come here, son!'' he yelled, pulling his best friend in for a hug.
Declan chuckled, his grip on his best friend tightening, partly due to the fact that he was freezing his arse off.
''We did it! But Jesus, I miss Australia.'' Ant said, pulling back from the hug but leaving an arm round Dec's shoulder they headed down the steps.
Dec laughed. ''Think we all do, mate.'' he said before addressing their crew. ''Well done, everybody! Great first show. Go and get warm before we set up for the trial!'' he said, dismissing them all with a friendly grin and wave, before he headed for the steps back up to their office.
'What he said. Well done, everyone!'' Ant said, before he rushed to follow Dec out of the cold. Shutting the door behind them both, Ant shivered, rubbing his hands together. ''Jesus! I swear it's colder here, than in London.''
Dec snorted. ''Of course it will be, we're higher up!'' Slumping onto the sofa, Dec rested his head back and sighed in relief. ''That's the fourth time I've ever been glad to get a first show out of the way.''
Ant frowned as he sat next to him, mirroring Dec's pose, only his head was turned towards his best friend. ''Fourth?'' he asked, before realising. ''Oh.'' he cleared his throat, determined not to let his mind wander. ''Well, the fans seemed to love it.'' he said, angling his phone in Dec's direction. ''Some even prefer the Castle to the Jungle.''
Dec's head snapped up from the looking at the phone. ''They'd better bloody not.'' he joked. ''I want heat and our Jungle, not colds and Castles. As beautiful as it is.''
Ant chuckled and sighed. ''I think I'm having Australia withdrawals.''
''Yeah, I noticed!'' Dec said, smiling.
It was no secret they were devastated that they weren't in Australia, with their regular crew, but at least they managed to get some thing shipped from Australia, like the beds and the phone-box, so at least they had some part of Oz with them.
A knock at the door had their heads turning. Rachel, their PA, poked her head in. ''Twenty minutes before filming for the trial, boys.'' she said, with a gentle smile before leaving them alone again.
Jumping up, Ant switched on the kettle in their office, dropping a green tea teabag into Dec's cup and an Earl Grey teabag in his own. After making their teas, he sat back down, gently handing Dec his tea before taking a sip of his own.
'You know... This the first time in nearly twenty years I've been home all year...'' Dec said, blowing on his tea to cool it down.
Ant glanced at him. ''How's it feeling?''
''Horrible. Australia's the highlight of the year.'' Dec said, dramatically.
Ant smiled. ''Exactly how I felt in my year off. At least I have you with me this time, and not on the other side of the world.''
''True.'' Dec tensed a little bit at Ant's mention of his year off. He still hated to think about it and speak about it, two years on. He hated any mention of the worst year of his life (apart from his daughter, she was literally the light at the end of the tunnel.). He knew he shouldn't let it get to him but he couldn't help it.
Of course, Ant noticed. 'Dec... Declan, don't. Think about the trial. Do you think they'll do it? Shane and Jordan?''
Dec's brain took a few seconds to realise Ant had spoken. ''Erm.. Hopefully. I mean... As long as Jordan doesn't puke in-front of us, I think he'll be fine, especially since it's with someone else, mortal support and that... I hope Jordan doesn't get the eating one.''
