Marianna's POV
I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing on the bedside table next to me. Stretching my arm out, I try and grab my phone but it's just that little bit too far. Looking over at Charlie, I see him sleeping peacefully, laying on his stomach with one arm across my waist and the other under his pillow. God, he looks good. His hair is a mess but it still looks perfect, I feel so tempted to run my hands through it. Shaking my head, I wriggle slightly closer to the edge of the bed trying not to wake him.
I grab my phone to see what all the buzzing was about. I had 15 messages from Madi. that's a bit desperate.

Did you sleep at Charlie's ?!?!
Why aren't you answering?

DID YOU SLEEP AT CHARLIE'S LAST NIGHT
SINCE WHEN DO YOU SLEEPOVER AT CHARLIE'S?
And so on. I text her back explaining that I slept over at Charlie's because I couldn't sleep. Checking the time, I decide there is no point going back to sleep because Charlie's alarm is going to go off soon. Looking over at Charlie I watching him to make sure he doesn't wake up as I gently grab his arm and lift it just enough for me to slide out from underneath it. Standing up from his bed I give him one last glance before climbing out the window and back through mine.
After showering and getting ready for school, I make my way downstairs to eat breakfast with my family. Walking into the kitchen I greet my family who is sitting at the table already eating.
"Morning sweetheart, how did you sleep?" Maggie asks giving me a polite smile.
"Yeah Mari, how did you sleep?" Megan repeated giving me a mischievous look.
"I slept fine, thanks for asking," I answer giving Megan a weary look. I make myself a bowl of cereal and go and sit down with everyone.
"Where's Charlie?" Megan asks still having the same look on her face.
"At his house," I answer slowly, not knowing what she was up to. We all sit at the table eating silently, slowly one by one we all get up putting our dishes away and continue to get ready. Me being the last to get up and put my bowl away, I jump when I see Megan behind me looking at me funny, cause i thought I was alone.
"So where were you last night?" she questions, with a knowing look on her face.
"At Charlie's house," I say matter of factly. I walk past and make my way up to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Megan following behind.
"What's going on between you and Charlie?" she interrogates me. I start brushing my teeth and give her a weird look in the mirror.
"What are you talking about?" I say with a mouth full of toothpaste. I finish up brushing my teeth and just continue looking at her.
"C'mon Mari, It's obvious that you two like each other. You guys can't even go a full night without seeing each other, where ever you are, Charlie is, and vise versa. You two are inseparable. Admit it." Megan spills to me.
"Admit what?" I question, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"That you like him!" She exclaims loudly, throwing her arms in the air. I start blushing profusely.
"One I don't like him, and two, I'm not talking to you about this Megan. Now let's go before we are late for school." Megan lets out a frustrated sigh and walks out of the bathroom, with me close behind her. I grab everything I need for school, say goodbye to Megan, Maggie and Ric, and yell out to Madi that we are going now. We then make our way out of the house towards my car. Getting the driver's seat and Maddi in the back doing whatever she does on her phone, I message Charlie telling him I'm in the car and ready to leave . He quickly responds with an 'okay'. A few seconds later I see him rushing out of the house and over to my car, getting in.
"Good morning sleeping beauty," I tell him cheekily. starting my car, I reverse out of my driveway and drive in the direction of the school.
"Care to tell me why I woke up in the night with you in my bed?" Charlie asks getting straight to the point.
"Good morning Marianna, how did you sleep?" I make my voice sound a bit deeper, trying to sound like Charlie. Madi laughs and he just gives me an amused look."I couldn't sleep last night, so I went to yours," I tell him focused on the road ahead of me.
"Why didn't you wake me when you woke up this morning? I woke up to an empty bed." A concerned look on his face telling me he was worried.
"I woke up before your alarm, and you looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake you," I explain.
"Okay, next question. Why couldn't you sleep?" He continues with more questions.
"I don't know, I guess I just had a lot on my mind." I shrug my shoulders, glancing at him.
"What were you thinking about?" He questions even more. God, what was with everyone questioning me today.
"Damn Charlie what is this? 21 questions?" I joke. He just gives me a solemn look. "Sorry. I was just thinking about our conversation yesterday about me playing with you guys." I lie. Of course, the thought of being on stage did make me nervous, it just wasn't what was on my mind at that time.
"I understand that It can be nerve-racking but it wouldn't hurt to at least try."
Pulling into school, I park my car and we get out, walking up to the entrance doors finding everyone huddled together.
"What's up you two?" Everyone in the group is standing around giggling. Charlie and I look at each other with confused expressions. Turning back to look at everyone, I spot Madi trying her hardest not to laugh.
"Madison are you serious?" I glare at her, causing her to start laughing really loud. She notices that I'm still staring at her and stops laughing.
"Oh, no." Madi starts running off with me right behind her chasing her.
"Get back here" I yell at her, chasing her through the halls. Madi starts to slow down to catch her breath, allowing me to catch up to her.
"I'm sorry it was just a joke, I didn't think you would get upset over it." She spills out.
"I'm not mad Madi," I tell her placing my hand on her arm.
"You're not?" She questions unsure if I'm telling the truth or not.
"I'm not," I reassure.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, madison I'm sure." I laugh lightly.
"Then why did you chase me?" She questions even more.
"Why did you run?" I retort.
"I thought you were mad cause I told Owen, Jeremy, Carolynn, Savannah, Jadah, and Tori that you slept at charlie's and now they think that you two did the deed," Madi says fast putting her hands over her face to shield her from me. So that's why they were all giggling at each other, that makes so much sense. I'm never gonna hear the end of this from the guys now.
"You are so annoying you know that," I tell her running my hand over her hair, messing it up. She quickly slaps my hand away and fixes her hair.
"Thanks. So what kept your mind running so much last night that you couldn't sleep." I look down at the ground embarrassed by my answer.
"Charlie. I was thinking about Charlie." She gives me a knowing look. We start slowly making our way back to the group.
"Can't you just admit that you like him?" She asks me.
"No, I can't, because if I admit that I have feelings for him -which I don't- things will change between me and him and I don't want to ruin our friendship, especially if he doesn't feel the same," I tell her.
I can't like him can I? Even if I did I don't think I could live with myself if I ruined my friendship with Charlie. He's my best friend in the entire world, he knows me better than anyone. I don't know what I would do without him.
"He feels the same way, Mari. He likes you, who knows he maybe even love you." Madi says talking with her hands.
"But what if he doesn't?" I doubt.
"But what if he does?" She replies.
