The Warrior's Mate (Bxb)

chapter 6

Xavier stood a bit shocked by the stranger's odd behavior. About one minute or so after the male vanished from his sight he shook his head. He told himself it was of no importance,  but decided to keep his guard up in case the man came back with other members of his pack to attack him.

He began to make his way to Lunaris, a beautiful city built within the confines of a palace wall. Lunaris was probably easily the most beautiful city in the county. If it wasn’t Xavier would be surprised, But not only was Lunaris beautiful it was a very popular town to sell slaves in if you had any for sale. As it was a town of beauty many rich nobles go there for clothing.

As he was making his way it dawned on him that he would blend better with some clothes of more regal design. He sucked in a breath deciding that he would shop in the city next to Lunaris for some clothes get in, finds his mate, and leave. quick and simple. At least he hoped that it would be quick and simple.

Taytum had resumed his normal routine. Getting master Zion up by seven in the morning, making sure he had breakfast, and reading his schedule for him each morning. This morning was no different as Zion was eating his breakfast Taytum was reading his schedule.

“You have a meeting with your father at nine am with the other council members.” Taytum started. Zion sighed, “Alright how long is this meeting with the council?”

“Three hours, don’t throw a temper tantrum like you did last time. This is important with you taking over for your father” Taytum scolded as he looked to Zion.

“I- I did not throw a temper tantrum!” Zion said defensively 

“Frederick filled me in as he handed me your schedule this morning. You did have a temper tantrum last time and you know it. Your almost three hundred years old please act like it” Taytum said with a soft sigh

Zion sighed and released a soft grumble, “Yeah alright... What else is on my schedule?”

“You have another meeting with Lady Winters at her estate for the next three days. You will be at her manor this time.

“You’ve got to be kidding me” Zion growled with a quiet rage

“Your mother and father believe that she is quote, a perfect match once you’re over your fantasies unquote. So yes you will be there for the rest of today and the following three days. They also made it clear that they would like you to not bring a play toy. Which I am assuming is me” Taytum said as he looked to Zion who was trying to do everything in his power to not lose his temper. Taytum sighed setting the schedule parchment onto the table and he looked to his master, “Look I understand that this may seem trivial and annoying... But in order to both appease your parents and to learn more about your job. Both of these are very important. And would it really be all that bad to take this time to make an ally?” 

“I guess your right,” he said after a long period of silence. He still wasn’t pleased with the Idea, but he could tell Taytum wasn’t about to let him try and get out of this mess. Taytum nodded his head in approval. Taytum then walked out with the empty dishes and was making his way to the kitchen. As he was making his way through the manor halls he was stopped by Fredrick.

“I assume that from the fact you are still breathing he agreed to fo to Lady Winters’s unaccompanied by you?” Frederick said in a slow manner.

“He agreed I told him it would be wise to at the very least befriend Lady Winters” Taytum said as he was looking to Fredrick. Frederick let out a quiet sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness he purchased you Taytum I would have been dead if I talked to him about it.”

“I could see that, I got it taken care of though I am sure he is not all that pleased with me as well. But if you will excuse me. I need to get back to the master so I can make sure he dresses appropriately for the meeting with the council.” Taytum said as he hurried to return the dishes o the kitchen and hurrying up to the master’s room.

In the room Zion was rummaging through his clothes to find something. Though the last thing he wanted to do was sit in a large meeting room with his father and nine other ancient men. He didn’t have the same drive as his father to be a council member. But there wasn’t many purebloods left so he was really left with no options. Taytum entered the room and helped Zion get ready. As he finished tying Zion’s tie he said, “I will have your bags ready for Lady Winters by the end of this meeting. Remember to behave and as boring as it may be please pay attention.” Taytum said in a soft tone.

Zion sighed and looked down at Taytum, “Fine I will behave and listen alright”

“Thank you” Taytum said softly.

Xavier had made it to a city near Lunaris and was currently in a shop looking to pick out some clothes to wear for when he entered Lunaris. He was currently looking over many shades of colored shirts. The colors ranged from white to black. He eventually decided on a white top with brown pants and a brown pair of boots. He then set off toward Lunaris. He was hoping that there would be a clue as to where his mate was. He needed his mate. Wanted his mate. 

As he was walking down the trail toward the large city he began to wonder if he was even heading to the right city. He shook his head and pressed forward. He was determined to locate his mate even if it was the last thing he was going to do. With his determination, he continued on to the city of Lunaris so that he could find his mate. He made it to Lunaris by sundown, he would have to wait until morning to speak to the auction house. He sucked in a deep breath and was in search of a hotel to stay in for the night. If he couldn’t locate one he would go to the woods and seek shelter there.

Taytum had finished the last of the chores that Frederick had given him to complete since Master Zion was not present in the manor. Taytum would check off each item after he completed it. Cleaning the dining room, check. Dust the manor, sweep, and clean Master Zion’s room. Taytum looked about his Master’s room, he was proud of his work. The room was spotless, smelled fresh and clean.

Taytum took in a deep breath, letting the clean fresh air fill his nose. After admiring his work one last time he walked to the kitchen to locate Frederick, to see if there was anything else he could do to help about the manor. As he walked into the kitchen he saw that Ava was in the process of cleaning the kitchen. He cleared his throat.

“Need any help?” Taytum asked as he was watching her.

“Um actually if you wanted to prep the mop water... that would be great” She said as she finished sweeping the massive kitchen’s floor.

Taytum rolled up the long sleeves of his shirt and started to fill a bucket with warm water and he put in a cleaning chemical they had under the sink for the tile. He also found some scrub brushes for the stains on the tile floor. Once he was finished with that he took the opportunity to get started on some of the stains for her. She returned from taking out the trash and smiled a bit.

“Thank you so much Taytum. You know that really wasn’t necessary.” She said softly as she got onto her hands and knees to help Taytum scrub out the stains.

“No problem really, I mean I finished all the stuff Frederick wanted me to do. I don’t mind helping you to get you caught up” he said as he was scrubbing a stain on the tile floor.

He two got quiet as they were focused on scrubbing the floor. Once the stains appeared to be up off the tile Ava went over the floor with a mop. The floor looked almost new, which caused Frederick, who was walking in to stop and take a moment to look at the floor.

“Ava, This floor looks amazing” Frederick started adn she smiled.

“Thanks to Taytum it was able to be done rather quickly.” she said smiling more as she looked to Frederick.

“Taytum? Did you finish all that I gave you?” Frederick said as he looked to Taytum. 

“Yes ofcourse” Taytum said as he was looking at Frederick.

“Good, well you two are done for the day. So enjoy your break until dinner time” Frederick said as he was watching the two. The two thanked him and walked out of the manor.

“Ava did you want to go horse back riding with me?” Taytum asked with a small smile on his face.

“Sure! Sounds great!” Ava said as the two went  to the stables.
