Just friend to Best friend

So coming to school on the first day of reopening was not a very good idea . Especially because of a girl . I messed up big time . The school's not prepared yet...there's no food to buy or eat and the school is barely half full .

A few boys joined in later and things turned out a little fun . The school had become a boys zone where we could do anything we wanted . We kept messing around in our dormitories all day and enjoyed the free days we had until the house masters and teachers began to show up at school . It was only a matter of time till the school got full again .

Students came in their numbers on the second week .

Man...two weeks without seeing Elly . How long is she planning on staying home ?

I couldn't find her anywhere .

The sirens went off and everybody moved out of their classrooms . I shoved my hands in my pockets and headed for the trees . I didn't border looking anywhere since there was no one to look for . Also , I didn't want to see Jenny . My first crush .

_She's not really my first crush . More like an almost crush .

I lifted my head and and forced my eyes slightly to the right . Directing to Jenny's class . I walked passed block C and neared the Science and IT lab which was still under construction .

" Peter ! " A short girl called from the uncompleted block .

" yes! There she is ! " I yelled  mentally in excitement .I tried not to look too happy but deep down inside , I felt like running to her and giving her a hug of a life time . Now I know that will never happen .

She had her stood alone . Her best friend wasn't standing with her for the first time . " Yes . We get to be alone " I thought .

oh no . What will I say to her ?

" h_hi "  I licked my lower lip . " Peter " She gave that beautiful smile . The most amazing smile I'd ever seen . Her dazzling eyes stared straight into mine ." Hello Peter " was the only thing she said with her tiny sweet voice . My hands were still stuck in my pockets since I had no idea what to do with them .

" I didn't see you the whole of last week " I forced words out of my frozen shut lips . " mm yes . I didn't come to school "she answered . I felt a slight push from behind when a dark girl came out of the empty room . I didn't notice the group of students inside .

Looks like the uncompleted block was a cool hangout for everybody . It had dusty rooms with iron rods , stones and bricks . Some empty areas were hidden from the open . They had no windows which would make it a perfect place for some sneaky couples to make out without being caught .

I bet someone has even kissed in this building before .

" Wow Elly . Who's your friend ? " The girl who accidentally pushed me asked almost sounding suspicious " This is Peter...He's my bestie " Elly said out of nowhere .

Bestie ? now I'm her best friend ?( bestie ) . Really ? how did that happen ?..wow .

" Ellyyyy.. You're saying he's your bestie now...then later it'll turn into something else " the girl joked .
Something else ? I really hope this something else happens . First she said I was her friend and now I'm her best friend . Really hoping it becomes more than that . oh what am I saying ? That will never happen .

I waited for Elly to say something like " Noo he's just my best friend " but all she did was giggle with her friend .

Could this mean something ? Does she like me ?...Nah
But what if ?

I couldn't stop thinking about what that girls said .

That's it for this chapter . I'll be publishing next chapter sooner this time . Expect more and better from the coming chapters as Peter's life is about to change .
