I slouch uncomfortably in the cafes chair. The sun had given me the perfect excuse to be wearing a cap but not a hoodie but luckily there was a slight breeze to cool me down. It had almost hidden the right half of my face was almost completely bruised and swollen along with a busted lip.

"Hey what happened to you?" Jin rushes to take a seat across from me. I tilt my head up slightly and my right eye barely opens to see him as a response

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay? I wouldn't have even gone in if I'd known, why didn't you tell me?!" Jin gasps at my face.

"It's not that bad," I light a cigarette and take a puff, "You finished early and you're here now, that's all that matters." I place the cigarette back in my mouth and look towards the ground again.

"I told him not to involve you in this. Ugh. He's so annoying." Jin groans and curses to himself.

"Jin leave it, it's my own fault." I wince at the chest pain.

"... What else?" Jin eyes me and asks.

"Just a few cracked ribs and a small uhhhhslightstabslashcuthhh." I mumble the end part.

"A WHAT?!" He shouts loudly, he heard.

"Hey keep it down. I only got fixed up a few hours ago. I'm tired." I hold the cigarette between two fingers and lean my head on the back of my hand while breathing out smoke.

"You should be resting not-" Jin snaps.

"Jin! Hey, so this was what was so important for you to leave early. Jae?"

I know that stupid voice.

"Ahem, Mr. Jeon." I sit up slightly but continue to look down at the table.

"Please, you can call me Jungkook." I can practically hear him smile, "are you unwell? You wasn't at the company today. Your colleagues said you rarely miss work."

Why couldn't he just leave? I'd roll my eyes but frankly, I can't feel one of them.

"Yes sir, I'm just taking the day off, I'll be back tomorrow." I reply quickly and put the cigarette back in my mouth.

"You know it's kinda rude to not look at your potential boss." He says in a joking tone, but he's not. He's very much correct. Doo doo head.

I, once again, tilt my head up slightly and he bends down to meet my eyes.... Eyes.

"What the-"

"I'm fine. I'm just taking a break from work sir." I look towards Jin who is looking at everything but me, "I went to take a walk last night and these kids robbed me while I was lost, luckily Namjoon was there and helped me."

"That's why his hand was bruised and sore. Do you need any medical attention?" Jungkook asks.

"I'll be okay sir, it's nothing major. They didn't steal much anyways, I wasn't really carrying anything." I continue to lie.

"Well, you rest up. I'll be expecting you to email work in and to not leave the hotel room so you can rest. You can take as long as you need." Wow, he actually sounds sincere.

"Yes sir."

"Please, Jungkook remember? Anyways, Jin I'll see you around. Jae, I'll be waiting for those emails." He nods politely and leaves.

I stub out the cigarette on the table before Jin continues to talk.

"YOU GOT STABBED?!" He resumes his loud voice.

"It wasn't a stab, it was more of a slash..." I trail off at the end.

"AND THATS BETTER HOW?" I quickly lean over the table and cover his mouth while wincing.
