Matthew’s POV
I was still angry at Jasper when we arrived at LBI, but I had come up with a plan. A plan to show V what she was missing, and who better to help me then the party girl Caitlyn. Although she wouldn’t know she was helping, but that was all part of the plan. Tonight I was going to ask Caitlyn out, and then Veronica would realize she liked me, not Jasper. A perfect plan to get the perfect girl. We all walked down the dirt road we had parked on toward the beach. Everyone was in his or her bathing suits except Ashton; he was wearing a wet suit.
“Hey surfer boy! Why don’t you go get a real bathing suit!” Sydney yelled at him.
“It’s a wet suit, it’s so I don’t get board burn,” he said.
“That’s what you say, I think it’s because your embarrassed that every guy here ‘sept you, surfer boy, has a six-pack,”
“Not true,” Ashton replied calmly.
“Then why don’t you go put on a real bathing suit, surfer boy,” Syd taunted.
“Because I don’t want to get board burn!” Ashton practically yelled.
“Calm-down surfer boy, just ‘cause you are the only guy here without abs doesn’t mean you need to get your wet suit in a twist,” Sydney said smoothly.
“Shut-up,” Ashton said before running off to the waves surfboard in hand.
I walked up to where Caitlyn was laying down her beach towel, by her bag filled to the brim with magazines, sun block and sunglasses.
“Hey,” I said sitting down next to her.
“Hey Matt,” she said smiling at me.
“So what do you read all this junk for?” I asked
“I have to keep up with all the latest gossip, silly,” she replied.
“Okay by why does it matter who Justin Beiber is dating?”
“So we call kill her whoever she is, so we can have him to ourselves,” she rolled her eyes at me like it was obvious.
“But why waist your time crushing on a guy you may never meet?” I asked, intrigued by this girl’s way of life.
“That’s exactly why we waist our time, because we may never meet him, we can build him up to a god among men, without a flaw, he’ll forever be perfect in our minds, and he can never let us down,” she replied.
Wow that kind of made sense, and she had set me up perfectly to set my plan in motion.
“Yeah, you deserve one perfect guy in your life, if not two,” I said.
She laughed and said. “Yeah especially since I have to deal with you and the rest of the guys,”
“Oh, thanks, I expect you to make up for that,” I said sarcastically.
“And how do you propose I do that?” she asked giving me a wry smile.
“How ‘bout a kiss,” I said hoping she would say yes, she wasn’t a Veronica, but Caitlyn she was totally hot.
“Okay,” she said and leaned and gave me a kiss.
“Wow,” I said, “I didn’t think you actually would,”
“Well, like you said I could use another perfect guy in my life,” she said before leaning over and giving me another kiss.
