You walked with Nya to your hangout place, Cherry's Café. It was a nice, small bakery with cute designs on the inside and had delicious goods.

And there was also the fact that it was cheap.

The bell rung as you entered the building, eyes looking around like always to see who was all there.

Your eyes landed on a couple of people. A women with her son, who looked around four or five, an old man that was eating strawberry cake, and a teenage girl group sitting at a table, laughing and giggling. Probably gossping about boys or celebraties.

You waved at the old man, Mr. Sato,  and smiled at him. He smiled back before taking another bite of his cake.

Mr. Sato was a regular here, and you've talked to him a few times when Nya was sick, had an appointment, or was too busy to come with you.

Those days happened more often than not, but you didn't mind. Mr. Sato was a pleasant person to talk to, and very trustworthy.

He was also wise, and gave off a grandfather vibe.

Nya took her usual seat beside the window, and you sat across from her.

A waitress came to take your orders, brown hair and green eyes. Her name was Ayumi, and she was really nice, too. However, she always teased both you and Nya about school, especially when it came to boys.

She was like a big sister, but more distant.

"Your usual?"

You nodded and smiled at her and she did the same. She walked to the backroom, and you looked at Nya.

She looked miserable.

Her eyes were droopy, her hair was sticking out in different directions, her lips looked cracked, and she was pale.

It was two days after Killua's rejection, and she immediately went home without walking with you like usual.

You called her, texted her, even went to her house, but her mom said she wasn't feeling well.

You couldn't help but think it was a little stupid.

I mean, Killua never likes the girls, just uses them. What did she expect? For him to say he'll be her boyfriend and that they would be together forever? The moment that happens is the moment you get heartbroken.

Which would never happen until you're at least in your twenties.

Still, you reached out to her as best as you could, and your efforts lead you two days later, on a Sunday, at Cherry Café.

You couldn't believe two days already passed. It was Friday when Nya confessed, and tomorrow was Monday.

You really hope people forgot about it, like it was just another confession gone wrong. Nothing special.

But you knew high school was much more complicated than that.

You sighed and raised Nya's chin.

"Hey, listen to me. You don't need that jerk. I mean, c'mon, it's Killua Zoldyck. It's not like he would've accepted your feelings, anyways."

You freaked out when she started crying.

'Was it something I said?! Stupid!'

"A-ah, sorry, Nya. You know I'm not good at comforting others...Look, there's tons of other boys out there, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of them would love to be with you. Just not the douchebag kind."

Ayumi came over with your orders, a chocolate milkshake and a crossaint.

Nya loved crossaints.

Ayumi's cheery smile dropper when she seen Nya's tears, and she was rubbing her back comforting her.

"Nya, what's wrong?"

Nya shook her head, not wanting to talk about it.

Ayumi discreetly looked at you, and you mouthed 'boy trouble'. Ayumi nodded in understanding after that.

"Well, I wish I could sit down and talk with you both, but I still have a job. How about I come to your house Nya? Around seven?"

Nya just nodded, not saying anything. You pursed your lips as Ayumi sighed.

"Okay, then. Want anything else for your order?"

"Coffee." You answered easily, and Ayumi nodded before walking off.

You looked at Nya again, and knew you couldn't blame Killua too much.

Scratch that. You can blame him as much as you want to.

As far as your concerned, Nya wouldn't be so damn depressed if he took it easy on her.

But no, he had to insult her in one of the worst ways possible.

Comparing her to her best friend.

You felt bad. Some small part of you liked the compliment, but it was definitely not worth it if it meant Nya being hurt.

You wish you could do something about it, but honestly, the only thing you could do was find a nice guy for her.

Your eyes widened at the thought, and you smiled at Nya.

"Hey, how about we go to the-"

The bell chimed as another customer came in, and footsteps were heard.

"Hey, Gon, hurry up." Your pupils shrunk, and Nya started crying again, but you took her hand in yours, trying to comfort her.

You didn't need confirmation to know who it was, but you were still shocked a rich boy like him would come to a place like this.

"Coming, Killua!"

Your breathed in and out once, calming yourself down.

'Just stay quiet, and keep your head down.' You told yourself.

Nya seemed to already know, as she had lowered her head and kept her gaze on the table, mouth shut tight as silent tears streamed down her cheeks, Killua's cruel words echoing in her mind.

"Here's your coffee." Ayumi set your coffee down on the table, and you thanked her, not yet taking a sip, knowing it was scolding hot.

Nya didn't know what she did next.

One moment, she was fine. She was still your best friend, and you were her's.

"I don't want none unless you got buns, hun."

And then, she heard Killua again, and the memories replayed themselves, one harsh sentence making her stand up.

"Idiot. Maybe if you had an ass like your friend here then I might've accepted your offer."

You stared at Nya in bewilderment, wondering what the heck she was doing. She didn't want to get noticed by Killua, did she? You were about to grab her hand, but she slapped yours away.

"You should try some squats. As for you, maybe I could give you my numbe-"

And then she grabbed your cup of coffee and threw it at you.

You quickly stood up, shocked.

Coffee stained your plaid sweater, but that didn't bother you as much as how hot it still was. You quickly took off your sweater, a black tank top underneath it.
