Perhaps if there are a few things I can say about myself, it's got to be my relationship with books & writing.

I've finished reading my first book at age 12. Finished, as in I've read everything from cover to cover. I've always read books way before, but I've never managed to finish reading the last page, until that day. I still remember that first book, it was a Nancy Drew paperback, but the entire title escapes me. Nonetheless, that one book opened the floodgates of reading for me. I read the entire hardbound collection of Nancy Drew in our school library back in grade school, and I started reading other genres that were as thick as a pocketbook dictionary. I've always loved libraries. Bookstores are the first places I gravitate to when I find myself in the mall.

Writing became second nature after that, and I filled my old school notebooks with random stories patterned after the Sweet Dreams novelettes I was reading back then. Characters, events and dialogues made a permanent dwelling in my head & I haven't stopped writing ever since.

I still get the same exhilarated feeling at the touch of a book or the drop of ink on paper. It's good to know that even if I may have forgotten some of my childhood habits, reading & writing is something that I will probably never outgrow.
