The Sarah Spellings series was inspired by imagining a different future. What if roads were cracked, bridges toppled, and no one could travel by car?  How would people adapt, where would they live, what would they eat? There might be some who want a return to the security of grocery stores and gas-powered cars, and others who want to build a different kind of civilization. 

This planet has true magic in its forces of nature. Sarah discovers she has inherited the power to harness natural phenomena. She can make things grow, and command the weather.
