I'm immortal. There's not much more to say.
My name? Look above and stop being lazy.
Age? Figure it out.
Likes? You shutting up.
Dislikes? You not shutting up.
Yes, I like silence.
I stand there, the wind whispering in my ear. The dark, cold night kept me on edge, adrenaline coursing through me. The way it should be. The moon was a spot in the sky, a glimmer of light in the total darkness. The way light and darkness always balances each other out. I felt myself grow stronger, with each passing moment. The darkness was my friend. I close my eyes, letting myself hear every sound, the chirping of the crickets, the howl of a lone wolf in the distance. Owls hoot above my head and the crunch of leaves interrupt my concentration. I turn around and see nothing, nothing but a beautiful intricate sword plunged into the ground. A sword I cannot touch. The fierce, winter cold has no affect on me as I stand there, letting myself absorb my surroundings. A steady stream of snow starts falling but I do not move. It was a beautiful night but I had no intention of admiring it. I finally hear her arrival, her footsteps unusually quiet in the snow. I turn around and though I should kneel and greet her, I do not. She does not react to this however, knowing the cause of my presence. She says nothing but I know what she is thinking. She is telling me that the effects would be fatal. I stand silently, motionless, waiting. She nods and I see her hiding her emotions. I know how she is feeling but I do nothing to comfort her. I walk up to the sword and touch it. Searing pain erupts and I crash to the ground but keep my grip on the sword. A week later, I wake up but it was different. Darkness, shall forever be my friend but light shall never more be my enemy.
This is a part of my Seeker of Knowledge, Wanderer of the World series but will not be written out in an chapter. I may, however, add it as a book of short stories.
