Hi again! As promised (and as it was my goal) I finished Ch. 2: White Flag. I felt like waving a white flag here too in WP despite all the criticisms that I've heard. Don't you just want to put your hands together and say STOP! And then it will remain peaceful for the moment.
          Ok, this chapter was not forecasted but likewise I wanted to tie the battle to how Prisana will meet her love, Khin. They will meet each other according to the prompt I'm following. And I'm proud of myself since I still haven't lost it ... learning how to write a romance story. And once I'm done with this short story, I might turn into a novel like I did for Seeking an S.O.S. That was a short story written for another profile's contest awhile back.
          Yes, long ago I loved writing short stories rather than novels, cause they're easier to write!

          Just finished writing 900 words today ... it's lunch time so "I have to refuel" aka EAT ... *smiles* or my doc won't like hearing that I skipped meals! She said last time ... What's more important? Writing or eating a well balanced meal. Go figures!

Happy Hump day everyone! Got my new glasses and its better than my old ones since they don't fall down on the bridge of my nose. Plus, I can see better. Today, my total for Ch. 2 is about  700+ words. It's hard to write when it's very hot outside! Done for today. As always I had to edit my work. I cut out some unnecessary words and as I usually do when I'm half asleep, I tend to write the same sentence twice  in a paragraph! Old habit of mine. SIGH.
          
          Hoping I can post it tommorow. I'm gonna introduce Khin, a Burmese soldier with an injury who Prisana has to tend to. She falls in love with him But she's from the enemy's land, Siam so there's the problem right there. It will also lead me to Ch. 3  which is what I want. I aim to submit my submission to the API contest either on Sunday or Monday at the latest
          It's not easy writing characters in a war story that I only learned about this month. But as I always say it can be doable, if you have the patience. Plus in the back of my mind, I would say there aren't a lot of female authors who write about war stories; correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Authors ... but I think its mostly men who write about the military. LOL

          Calling it a day on writing, since I've been jotting notes since this morning. In total, I have about 1, 600 words + written. That would almost be 2 chapters in Wattpad! But you see,  I need to make sense and I think that's the main problem I've noticed in some author's work.
          --> Never "rush" your work! Carefully take notice of what you just wrote. Read it aloud if you have too. <--
          I still remember how someone said I was rude since I left that in one of my comments. But you see if you are in a book club and want to ask for my advice, that is what you'll get. Like the movie quote from A Few Good Men as said by actor Jack Nicholson, "You want the truth? I'll give you the truth ....'" LOL ...yup he was a bit harsh but as said, take it like a teaspoon of salt. You learn from what others have to say! I do, each day.

          Just realized I have to be careful on what I write. I made myself look at the title I wrote on the cover of my book twice. It should be "Embracing Wanderlust" not "wonderlust" LOL
          'Grammer Glasses' strikes again. That's what I call it. And what I'm wearing are the glasses that have a transparent glare ... nice for outside, hard for me to see inside, so I have to take it off and squint. I got new ones last month and just have to pick them up this week. Hope they are better than what I have. I also found out I have skin allergies to metal cause I had a rash outbreak. And that eyeglass shop cashier thought I was lying since he claims no one has had that before. I said to him ... well you haven't met someone like me before then, with a smirk on my face. That's why I switched shops. Can't always get good help these days! SIGH
          
          Anyway, gonna continue working on my WIP today. Hopefully my aim is to submt ths weekend at the most.

          It's a bad habit of mine to always write with music ... I'm one those writers who somehow can write well despite listening to tunes along the way. I have tried for a week not to include any music for my API submission but I ran out of ideas. So today I said to myself ... do it! It might improve your first chapter. And indeed it did. I'm happier with the first part now.

          It's a hip War song that put me in the mood. Now, my first chapter is 1,126 words,  I think that's better than the previous one where I had about 900 wrds. Knew I could do it. *smiles*

Hello Everyone!
          So I entered my novel "Seeking an S.O.S. : Behind the Scenes" into the Pride Awards Contest. My two characters Martina (named after one of my late grandma's sisters who I never met) and Harley (yup, named after the motercycle = Harley Davidson)are a lesbian couple while the brother -Roman (named after a handsome wrestler ... LOL!) is asexual. My first take on a LGBTQ space story last year, so if anyone has any problems with it, I can take it. My novels are not perfect as I learn through editing and so on. (Am I hard on myself? I always have ... LOL)
          
          But I am still working on my submission for the API contest as well. Embracing Wonderlust. It's remembering who's who that I have to write down. I tend to mix up my characters and yes I have been in trouble with that before. Please remember, my mind has been damaged by brain injury and it WILL never go away after all these years. I train myself to remember or see clearly (I'm half blind - far sighted). Sorry have to always say that to old and new, because they often forget ... and in the end I cry!

          Might ask a cover artist to change it for me later. The one I made is only temporary, but I'm glad I have something to go by, and I "make my own cover"! Yay Me! LOL yes I know it ain't much but for a beginer like myself, you got to start somewhere. Now, I can worry on finishing chapter 2. *smiles*

          Love Story = it's what my story is about ... and my female MC. Prisana falls in love with a man who her dad despises. Oh, how cruel Pia. LOL Literally I was going to do a Romeo and Juliet ending, but I thought that would be cheesy. Besides being inspired by Shakespeare, I think I could do better.

Corrections on my behalf, concerning the 1700's war /rebellion I am writing about .. .  I officially thought it was called the Yodian Wars. <- forgot where I read that last week ... but from now on I will call it the Burmese–Siamese War because that's what I read on Wikipedia. That's the part of history you don't want to mistaken with.

Hello everyone! Happpy Monday.
          When I opened my Wattpad today, low and behold I have 4 readers on my API entry already. Thank you! >bowing< *smiling* It's been awhile since I've written something of my own, so I'm back!
          
          Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day Celebration yesterday! Took my my mom and brother out, so it was a nice outing. Yet, it's starting to get really hot here in California. 
          
          I'm not like my cousins, who show a lot of skin based on the attire they chose, so like on V-neck shirts ... I always wear a camisole underneath. As said, Pia is modest. LOL! When I was in an examination room, my former doc asked me, "Pia, are you cold" as I was wearing 3 shirts that day! 
          
          Yet, in the late 90's I used to wear shirts that would show your tummy and mini skirts, baby doll dresses as that was the fad. But you learn to cover up as you grow older. I had a lot of knee scrapes and so on.
          
          Later, I'm going to try again to see if I can make my own cover. Going to continue writing Embracing Wonderlust and if next week, I'm still not satisfied on my cover, I'll ask around for one. But yes I want to learn how to do it myself.

          As my WIP, is a historical romance story, I'm thinking this is what my male character is telling his nurse as she blushes. I answered one of the questions that The Reading Room asked and that was if there was a day in my past that I would change.
          And my answer would be the 1st day I was introduced to my first college. There are so many songs that could sum up that day  .
