I'm a storyteller, author, and avid reader. I love spending my days in make-believe places. Check out my website for more about what I'm doing, and where my imagination is taking me next.

I wrote my first story when I was in the 6th grade. My teacher read my mystery story to the whole class and that's when I knew I wanted to be an author more than anything else. (Up to then I wanted to draw cartoons for Walt Disney).

From there, I took any creative writing class I could. I took journalism classes and wrote for the school paper - which I didn't like. I've always been willing to write newsletters and anything that would allow me to write. I've been a part of some writer's group since I was 18. They wouldn't let me in before that. =/

Then I got married and did the having kids thing. So writing was put aside while I gained wisdom and fodder while raising my kids. =D  Now I'm back doing what I've always loved. Writing stories. And more stories. I work in a bookstore to help pay my bills while I write. Sometimes I work as a substitute teacher and my favorite part is being able to read stories to the kids. 

So, stories are my life. I love encouraging new writers. I even conducted a Young Writer's Group during a NaNoWriMo session at the school I was working at. I can never get enough of talking about writing and storytelling. 

If you're just getting started, never give up your dream because it will never give up nagging at you. Ideas will always pop up in strange places, characters will always whisper in your ear about their stories. Get used to it. Revel in it. Get some paper and a pen and take notes!
