The doctors were certain he wouldn't pull through, now he's written a novel!

Fourteen years ago Matt Gantry only just survived an horrific lorry accident, when the twenty six tonne truck he was driving left the road and ploughed head first into a tree on the A447 near Stapleton, Leicestershire, England. After one of their most technically challenging extrications in twenty years, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service freed Matthew after three hours and he was flown by the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry.

This is where he underwent a life-saving five and a half hour brain operation. He was then placed in a medically induced coma for a month and stayed in hospital for further ten weeks. Fourteen years on after finding he couldn't feasibly do the jobs he had gained due to his extensive injuries, he has written his first novel.
