Let me ask you: What are the qualities of a typical main character in a book?
Let me guess...
Beautiful.
Skinny.
Flawless.
Has all the good qualities.
Then we all read them hoping we could be them one day. But then reality hits us.
We are NOT skinny. So we starve ourselves.
We are NOT beautiful enough. So we put on makeup.
We have flaws. We try to cover them up.
We do NOT have the good qualities they have. So we downgrade ourselves.
I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, but does that mean that the fat, ugly and ones with no special qualities are not good enough for the main role?
Where are they in the story?
When will they be known?
