Jesus said that he is the light as long as he's in the world and remember that God is eternal, he is the beginning, the end, and will reign forever. So basically he is our light until the end of our life.
The darker your life, the brighter his presence. The darker your problem, the brighter his name for us to realized that God without a Man is still a God but a Man without a God is nothing.
