I have most recently achieved a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Applied Linguistics, with the special honour of winning the prize for the department's best literature dissertation.

I thus find myself pinioned between running away from a career in IT and project management and starting on the TeachFirst leadership programme.

But, more importantly, I am an alumnus of the prestigious National Academy of Writing (under Melvyn Bragg and Betty Trask award-winning author, Nicola Monaghan), a former panellist on the literary podcast, Litopia After Dark (along with authors Dave Bartram and Eve Harvey and new authors Kate Kelly and Sara Crowe), and an ARG co-writer for the Scholastic Children’s Book series “The Joshua Files” (with M.G. Harris).

In 2008 I presented a talk to the publishing industry on the rise of online writers-forums at the Birmingham Conservatoire and more recently published a short story in the University of Reading Creative Arts Anthology (see my short story, The Gull: http://www.wattpad.com/story/18349919-the-gull).

Whilst I have garnered praise from agents for the works I have submitted to them for consideration, I have not yet secured a publishing deal. So, I am turning to Wattpad to grant me some sense of authorly achievement. I therefore hope that you enjoy my work and prepare yourself as I get ready to serialise my most recent novel.
