There's a thing called "Wattys Bootcamp" that helps with Wattys preparation - if you are interested, ask me and I'll point you to the profile and Discord.

The "mentees," meaning those who participated AND were able to match with a mentor, got fabulous editing advice prior to the Wattys submission deadline. And now, you can see teasers of all the books that were honed to perfection and then entered into the Wattys contest.

Séa Gets Lucky is re-boxed! I hope I didn't drop some chapters in the process.

+ Each chapter has a name.
+ 13 "new" chapters (I split quite a few that had over 3000 words in them)
+ Lots of edits included. Thanks, @eacomiskey !!!
+ Some new art in the headers

          Wattys, here I come.

eacomiskey

@guywortheyauthor yes!!! Sea conquers the world!

Séa Gets Lucky is a mess right now, as I revamp it for the Wattys. Its length grew by 9k words as I have edited, so it doesn't fit in the same chapter boxes as before. I need a "PARDON OUR DUST" sign.

Glory_feeling2

@guywortheyauthor Lol! Pardon our dust sign! That's funny. Mine says "I'm getting there, don't close the door on me yet!"

@guywortheyauthor I'm going through the same thing with my story and, based on the notifications I've been getting, half the rest of the Wattpad writers, too. They really should create a way for us to update without notifications!

Greetings, all.

I am grateful and humbled. My notifs exploded with two simultaneous showers of congratulations.

          1. "Boots of Booty" has made the ONC shortlist. https://www.wattpad.com/story/333484200-boots-of-booty-onc-2023

          2. BootCampMentors accepted "Séa Gets Lucky" for their Watty mentor program and I am ecstatic to share that my mentor will be the impcomparable @eacomiskey

Furthermore, last month @prettyinpunkbc randomly chose Séa Gets Lucky as their "spotlight" so that I got a huge batch of wonderful, critical comments.

          I'm floating.

          Thanks.

I started reading your bio and thought for sure you were going to say you worked for Planewave Industries in Adrian, MI. Your story sounds a lot like the owner's. Are you familiar with them at all?

eacomiskey

@guywortheyauthor They definitely have a presence at anything like that. They used to build big observatory telescopes in California. Long story short, it's much cheaper to do the same thing in a rural community in Michigan. The owner came here to scope out property knowing he wanted to do something... more. But extremely vague on what that might be. He ended up buying a former juvenile detention facility that had several acres of land, a church, dorms, class buildings, etc. He built the factory and restored all the old WPA Era buildings on campus and turned them into an art gallery and a pottery studio and a woodworking school and a recording studio and a theater. They've built trails on campus where artists create glass blown planets to scale and scientists place them at scaled distance so visitors can see how small and far Pluto is compared to Jupiter. It's the most extraordinary merging of art and science I've ever heard of.

@eacomiskey What?!?!? I have heard of Planewave!!! They must rent a commercial space at the big AAS conferences or something. I don't know any of them personally.
