I grin to the readers of Cornelia Street, knowing I'm going the crush their spirits this lovely evening. "So," I begin, positively shaking my hands in the air, "I've started a new fic. Who likes Heroes of Olympus!?"
They all look around, completely confused. After murmuring to each other for a few moments, one of them has to courage to reply. "Uhmm... none of us??" A large group of people nod in agreement, though some don't, thinking about how they do, in fact, like Heroes of Olympus.
"Oh," I say, still smiling, "Well, I started one!"
A collective frown comes from the readers, a different one yells out, closer to the back, "Is it at least self insert?"
"Or OC?" A third chimes in.
My smile does not fade, "Nope! It follows Leo and Piper through the Wilderness Camp!"
More confused murmurs echo throughout the void, until eventually everyone begins to collectively boo, shouting about updates of Cornelia Street.
I stand there, oblivious to the upset people and demand of a new chapter. In my head, the Coconut Mall theme plays. Where my brain should be is instead a huge gaping hole filled up with soup.
